Unless you are a 5 star kid schools aren't holding spots for you. Spots fill up quickly, especially at the big schools. You can't really afford to string out the process. Probably not the best thing to say, but if I was advising a kid, and I was interested in attending a school that was tough to visit unless it was an OV, I would gather as much info I could and if felt comfortable I would commit.
