Demarcus Cousins demands trade

this is what sucks about the nba

nothing but aholes

these kids are told they are superstars before they even score a point- i cant imagine being a 14 year-old and having grown men follow me around telling me how great i am,then get into college and get more of it-

Nothing but aholes? Man, some people have serious anger issues towards the NBA. Durant, D-Rose, Dwight Howard, Blake Griffin...yea, there such aholes :blah: Every pro-sport with egos and millions of dollars has "some" aholes, lets stop acting like its just the NBA.

Sacramento being the cow town that it is, is a perfect 2nd destination for guys that have a bit of luggage that just want to play in the league, I would be pissed too but obviously be smart enough to play the first contract out and then look for a trade. Sacramento has saved a few careers over the year, like a Chris Weber

That said, certain guys are just a great fit in the smaller markets, like a Kevin Durant and he has been embraced for this. To complain like this just shows a lack of maturity and guidance

Eh, when they tell you to stay home it has to be a pretty big deal. I'm sure this is an ongoing thing with the kid for them to reach this point.

Along the lines of what someone else said, try to work out a trade for Anthony Davis, it should be an equal deal under the salary cap. Hell, UK may save some money on the deal.

Yeah, that's what's weird here. Cousins says he didn't demand a trade. So someone is lying here.

And you are probably right that it is an ongoing thing. Sac may see it as the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak.

The issue is that as soon as someone is drafted there, they are pissed. It's not where NBA rookies want to be. I understand they are getting paid big, etc etc, but I think their view is they could be getting paid big in a much better city and franchise. Unless you have some luggage or are a family guy, Sac is not where you want to be. It's the worst location in the NBA.

do you remember the days when they earned it-for all those you mention i see you left off the 200 busts who got paid millions to act like idiots-

nba sucks -its that simple-the refs let perceived superstars travel ,palm ect ect-its about as fun to watch as paint drying

As opposed to the NFL? Pretty sure you cant breathe on Tom Brady without getting flagged. Superstars in every sport get calls. Oh yea, and theres hundreds of busts in every sport who act like idiots as well. Jamarcus Russel immediately comes to mind, but yup its just an NBA thing.

Of course I don't know exactly what's going on, but that's my assumption also. Westphal seems like a trustworthy guy (and, as J.A. Adande noted, it's in his best interest to get Cousins onto the court) and the agent did not.

The Kings' version of events is a lot more believable than the Cousins/agent "heat of the battle" version.

So true, people just love to hate the NBA, proclain not to watch it but they feel free to spout off on who is a first round draft pick, who is overrated, etc etc. I like the NBA and as you said their problems are pretty much the same as most other professional sports. One of their problems is the age of a lot of their rookies and younger players, maturity hurts sometimes but people getting pissed for them making money and not living up to exectations? whose fault is that? So much international talent as well, which makes the NBA that much better.

Three things:

1. Cousins's agent says Cousins told Westphal something like, "If you don't like me, trade me." If true, that's different than demanding a trade.

Since when is a job about your boss liking you or not liking you. He has a job to do. He's getting well compensated for it. Shut up and get to work.

Hes a 2nd year player as well. Its not like hes a veteran who feels hes not being used correctly or whatever his deal is. Hes just immature and acting like a tool. Man, that team is a mess. Jimmer, Tyreke, Cousins...seriously they should make them all live together and do a Real World NBA...would put the Jersey Shore to shame.

It's NBA siberia!

Agreed, the skill level is off the charts, esp compared to watch college basketball has become.

The NBA has issues, mostly around money and younger guys in the league. Would much rather watch a 33 year old vet as opposed to a 20 year old kid out there, but for whatever reason their union doesn't protect those guys. And midlevel guys makes too much money for too many years, but to argue against the talent and skill level is nuts to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a little of both. It doesn't seem hard to believe that Cousins has been a pain in the ass for the team since he was drafted, so they may have been looking for an excuse to bring the hammer down on him.
