Of course see Kansas from the line on 4/7/03.
Because of their points off offensive rebounds (6 points) on missed FTs, (they were 12-30) Kansas shot an effective 60% from the line (18-30), which was close to their season average of 66%.

If they shot their season average they would have won the game

DC my favorite basketball player of all time. I bleed orange and love syracuse basketball because of him. He could do it all a mean, nasty lefty, he could put it on the floor pass block shots and shoot the three, and obviously rebound with the best growing up, one of my friends said he reminds him of a sleestack from the land of the lost and george foreman lol.

2 more FTs would have made their effective rate (including the OR putbacks baskets) 67%, which was their season average.

I believe he just missed the backend, after his miss we played an ole’ defense because we were afraid to foul and IU came down and scored in like 4 seconds. What could have been a 4 point lead and we could have dropped back into our regular D became a one point game in a matter of seconds. It hurts typing this.
ooohhh. that smarts ...

Did you know?! The actual Sleestak in Land of the Lost were played by UCLA basketball players. Probably walk-ons or whatever the equivalent was then. How can you prove payments when the dudes are wearing masks? ;)

I still remember DC’s driving one-handed lefty tomahawk on the Hoyas in the Cap Center. It was a Hak v ND type moment for those not old enough to remember. He reached out and flushed that thing with the power of a thousand suns!

Derrick's handle was so good he was often left backcourt to beat pressure. DC coast to coast...highlight reel.
