Obie9 and I are on the road heading to Detroit. Left Syracuse blue skies ( no, seriously) and are now in gray snowy weather in Buffalo.

Anyone know of good sports bars in Dearborn and/or Detroit near the stadium to catch games late tonight and before our game tomorrow? Restaurant recommendations, St. Patty’s day activities etc?

Al Ameer in Dearborn is incredible. Arguably the best Lebanese I have had anywhere and cheap!!

Jolly Pumpkin is awesome in midtown. They do GREAT sours and barrel aged beers. Really good bar food.

The Detroit square pizza is decent. Buddy’s, Gus’s, Cloverleaf, Loui’s

Slows is decent BBQ in Corktown but it is a little tourist trap-ish and pricey since it got some run on the Food Ntwk years ago. I personally like Woodpile in Clawson much better.

There’s the strip in Greektown by the MGM Casino. Can get a little unsavory late night.

Go to Lafayette if you want coneys.

They have the streetcars/trolleys now on Woodward. Might be able to ride it around.

Enjoy! Wish I could go.

Have fun guys. We’ll get together after the tourney.

Thanks!! First time in Detroit so very helpful.

My co-president from AZ alumni club, Ally is there. Here boyfriend is MSU alum.

Also I was going to go with a client (family is a client actually) in Detroit, but can not. She is still using my tickets. She is also a little involved with the Detroit alumni club. Her husband and kids went to the open practice today. She and her husband grew up in Syracuse. She went to Syracuse. Nicole.

The official Syracuse University pre party is at a place called Nemo's. 1384 Michigan Ave Detroit 48226. Starting at 4:30 until the game ends. If you don't have tickets you can stay there and watch the game. There is free parking at Nemo's and they provide a $3 roundtrip shuttle to the game. There will be Syracuse giveaways. Otto Orange, 'Cuse Cheer and the Sour Sitrus Society will appear at 7:30 for a pep rally before heading over to the game. Kim Brown will be there from the Office of Alumni Relations to run this event.
