Not only would it be insanely expensive and thoroughly unmanageable in a Syracuse winter, it does not address some of the loudest complaints about the community grid — that commuting to downtown would be too much of a struggle without the daily traffic jams on I-81. The skybridge will not have any exits to downtown. So, all those disgruntled commuters who miss their daily I-81 traffic jam would still be forced onto a community grid.

So then why a skybridge? For all the reasons the dark money behind Renew 81 has always had — rapid access to Destiny USA from the south. And fast access to a failing mall is hardly a reason to entertain an idea as wild as the sky bridge."
