I wonder how this saga will end. As I said in my post above, the point is to temporarily shut the place down so the owner(s) cannot recover financially. Looks like this is going to court, the outcome will be interesting and may change the landscape in the city. Or maybe not.

"Less than a month after the order, owner Gary Salvatore said today the club will reopen at 9 p.m.
“I’m not going to sit here like a lame duck,” Salvatore said.

After hearing nothing from the city after the shutdown he said he did his own research and found the city violated state and federal laws.

The city unconstitutionally violated the “taking clause” by making his property have no value, he said. They also violated the law by not having a neutral party decide nuisance abatements and shutdown orders, he said. Salvatore said he drafted a document regarding the violation of his rights and served the city with them on Nov. 22.

He also said he’s abided by the city’s requests: He has cameras and lights. His club has security guards and he said he personally sees the doors are locked before closing.
