The heat pump really acted more as the A/C, heat source, till about 32 degrees and then I was still going to need a furnace for backup. I just ended up going with a traditional furnace and AC condenser due to the cost and being in upstate ny. If I had the dough I would have put some type of solar, geothermal combo in.
