DeVito efficiency

U can’t pull the trigger when u have 3 guys maybe 4 out on routes vs 7/8 defenders in 2 seconds and that’s half our plays . Did u see last week one play liberty rushes 3 which they did a lot and Rex had like 5 seconds finally a guy breaks open and it’s dropped /slashed broken up . That’s what’s supposed to happen
Your 5/6 men are supposed to give you all day to find a guy vs all that coverage . That’s how bad it’s been . Did u hear the announcer during the duke game ? No way 3 guys get in that fast . It’s like beating a dead horse
And please don’t under estimate the wrong choice routes that leave him befuddled
I could go on for days . We got injury ravaged
2 years in a row on the O line it’s bad bad bad luck . We need 22 O lineman next year Clemson had 20 we have 15

even seeing it in black and white u don’t get it
You have no idea how many issues there are besides those listed that I’m not going to get crucified for airing . Did u know he leads the country in throws aways dating back to last year ? Could be 30 more sacks or poor descions leading to picks . Sure he could save a few by throwing it away instead of a 1or 2 yard sack if that makes u feel better but TBH he already throws a ridiculous

adams and bliech will be very good guards
Vet needs to add 20 lbs he gets pushed back a lot , Servais is hurt will he be back idk
Burgeron is solid needs to clean up penalties
We have a injured un proven underbelly
And promising newbies next class but won’t be ready bottom line need 2 tackles and a center that are proven (2) I’m catching that ball and there’s nothing you can do about it wrs . Pretty please

So you're saying the coaching is poor because a lot of the things you mentioned are a result of either talent deficiency (on the whole offense other than QB) or poor coaching and playcalling...?

I haven't been running stats and seeing where we stack up for a reason. It's self-evident.

<insert boilerplate>Tommy is only a part of the issue as he can hold the ball and gets the yips, the OL play and injuries the biggest reason, RBs sitting out, new OC and no spring ball didn't help, and WR's drops add up. I think with no OL injuries, a full spring/fall camp, and our full complement of RBs we are probably a mid P5 O.</boilerplate>
I’m not getting on you Cusian but first how do you hold the ball yet have no time ? Oxymoron ... as I’ve said for the umpteeth is that’s how u spell it . You pre snap pick the side then have to watch what the defender does and chose where to throw ( there’s the alleged stare down ) sometimes the wr makes the wrong choice causing a clutch or hesitation
It’s then the Qb is perplexed for a split second and should try to look elsewhere but when u have 2 seconds u have to get out of dodge or throw it away for his national leading 57th time In 15 games ridiculous and while he is at it he should throw it away 15 more times to avoid a sack instead of a yard or 2 loss to make everyone happy . Yes he should throw it away but when your the piñata of the last year and a qtr you sometimes just want to get out of bounds to play another down . Stop with the issues it’s cause and effect . To many injuries to the line had put us last donu under stand what last means ? Did u see the map we are Australia on the map
Will agree to disagree. The ball has come out faster for Rex vs UNC, Pitt, Duke, and Liberty. We haven't seen him holding the ball. Same thing happened last year with Welch. Why is our sack rate half when the other QBs are in? If that is play calling then the coaches should be calling better plays to help the OL out when Tommy is in.

Umm liberty D had zero pass rush for starters

Play calling is handicapped because of lack of protection

Completely agree with you and I know you're limited to what you can really say. But that's only part of the issue IMO. The staff has had 4+ years to bolster the O-line, so that's not the fault of the guys who are playing. They're either in a position they shouldn't be in or not being prepared. You also mention routes not being run correctly, etc. Again, not the fault of the o-line, other than not giving TD the time to throw but it's the fault of the receiver corp not being coached well.

If the players are being coached well and don't have the acumen to play at this level, then that falls back to recruiting. Which also falls to the coaching staff.

I appreciate your response and insight.

the amount of injuries to the line isn’t fair to them , the O , or the coaches if we were fairly injury free it would be a different discussion

Fair point. That's a position that young or inexperienced players absolutely can't be thrown in to and have success. I think my other points outside of the OL are still valid, as well as the recruiting aspect of the OL. We've been negligent in attacking the OL position in recruiting, IMO.

I've always thought that the coaches should issue public grades for the positions that get stats. Their performance shouldn't be anonymous. The fans wind up judging them by a handful of plays they remember, usually when they screw up.
Well, that'd be awesome, but no coach is going to do that, so we have PFF as a sorta kind of...

To Redrum's frustration? I don't agree with it all, but I hear it loud and clear. If there is ANY Issue? You adjust. I thought I saw a few more quick/intermediate opportunities for Rex. COOL. Tommy may have the arm, but why didnt we start doing that 1 year ago? Why the Techmo bowl deep bombs every play? Forgive the vent, but its frustrating when we have the potential, but we square peg the round hole...

Rex is a warrior, but they have no choice now.. They have to develop the short/intermediate game. I hope that becomes a staple. Just because Tommy can drop a dime at 40yds? Is no reason to do that so often. Its not fair to anyone. :-/
