Devito

TD will be fine. His talent was obvious. He may have been a little too amped up and just missed on some long throws that he probably hits going forward.

I just hope Dino is smart when he makes these changes. I can see trying to find a spark if Dungey is struggling, but not after 6 consecutive scoring drives.

4-8 for about 50 yards, an awesome rolling out pass down the sideline to Custis called back on holding, a fumble by Pierce on a nice shuffle pass and a couple runs up the middle. How was he a deer-in-the-headlights again? The two sacks? Please...

I haven't read every post but I don't get the sense that many people are concerned about Devito overall. Some aren't convinced he's elite pure passer he's purported to be just yet and that's fine. They want to see something before they buy in and while I'd agree Devito was fine, not sure he showed anything to make you think he's particularly special in that brief audition, but that's fine.

The issue is when he was put into the game and I can absolutely understand that concern.

I think it was more a failure of the guys around him on offense than Tommy. Line didnt do a good job, receivers fumbling and not laying out for balls, giving up on routes, etc.

That and our defense was totally befuddled with the adjustments WMU made at half time. Although they knew not to let anyone over the top on them yet it happened several times.
I agree regarding the OL. Very disappointing pass protection performance. Once the game slows down for TD he'll be fine.

Devito needs to get stronger for sure is what i noticed more than his performance. He was thrown out to the wolves basically.

He really wasn’t, the pacing became different. the play calls became different. His problem is that dungey has a knack for timing not only pre snap but after the snap so we’re kinda spoiled. He was very mechanical and hurried I felt but his arm is light years better than dungeys. That was obvious on throw one

I couldn’t believe how tiny he looked compared to ED[/QUOTE]
If TD is 6'2" then ED is 6'6".

watching his series, he was not nearly as bad as people think. he crossed midfield 3 times and multiple 1st downs twice, had a TE fumble a holding call, a guy step on his foot and a tackle miss a block for a sack. really one bad throw, one really nice throw to strickland and nice throw on the scramble to Custis called back, a well thrown screen,

the pressure amped up by WM in desperation mode didnt help but if the deep ball is connected and the holding doesnt happen he throws for about 100 and rushes for 30 in limited action..

Oline gets its act together and he will look much better.

I thought Butler could have helped him out by going and getting that deep ball.

I’m glad Devito saw some action. The Devito era is coming sooner than anyone wants.

There is no way 2 lasts the full season. I love him to death but I just can’t see him surviving ACC play the way he plays the game.

it would help if we didnt need to run him this week. dont even call those plays unless we just cant move the ball, try to find a passing game with the kids, Jordan was open on his play

Western started stacking the box with TD in there, needed to throw the ball more...yes Butler didn't help him at all...some of this is on the coaches, they are going to have to call a different game with TD at the helm
