Devon Clarke ineligible to play in 2017

Starting to wonder if he'll ever play a game here...man what a ride he's been on. First commits to one staff without an offer, then gets offered by new staff late and actually commits, then gets suspended, and now he's ineligible.
I couldn't agree more! But I can't help but feel that this may have more to do with the University's internal judicial process than the judicial process downtown.

If he transfers he'd have to sit out anyway so he might as well stay put.

So the biggest question I have is if he can still practice and be involved with the team. Facilities, weight training, meetings, film etc. if so thats the positive.

Sounds like a university-imposed suspension or something. He was just in that DB group picture a few days ago.

This stuff, along with the medical DQ's, would simply never, ever happen at a big school like Bama or Tennessee. Comical.

I have no problem with this. Suspending him for only the spring is like Ohio St suspending a starter for a week one game against Kent St. A punishment needs to sting a bit more than that.

I hope he learns (has learned) his lesson, matures, and comes back strong.

If he was going to transfer he would have done it already, my guess he agreed to this first in order to stay here at his dream school. Mutually agreed decision and I am sure Mom had something to do with this.

Have to figure with his arrest in the spring he may not have finished all his classes and is academically ineligible.

I'd rather things be done our way than the Tennessee way. It's called the Fulmer Cup for a reason.
Do you want a competitive football team or not? We're in the same division as FSU, Clemson and Louisville yet conduct ourselves like a wannabe Ivy League school.

I get what you're saying, but CFB and CBB is big business. The term "student athlete" should be applied pretty loosely in most cases.

Bama I get ... but Tennessee?
