His worst line - something about "I'd like a dunk with a side of facial" - was hilariously awful and of course I've heard it twice on SC already.

I get it — they like former players as color guys. But, there ought to always be a minimum standard for broadcast professionals. He wouldn't meet it.

He reminded me of the days when John Thompson did play by play...and not very good at it.

I commented to my wife that I thought watching Syracuse play was very exciting for him. He showed himself as a little more fan than impartial analyst which is all right if it's us.

He was so bad he was great. BTW isn't his role to add color to the game? How is Dookie V really any different with his dumb antics? All he does is talk loudly and throw in some dumb catch phrases. He is considered a "legend" but it isn't ok for Simpkins to act similar? I prefer hearing Bobby Knight or Jay Bilas, but they are rare birds. Most of the guys are BS commentators. At least Simpkins was original.

I enjoyed listening to him. All of his one-liners were funny. Only thing that got old was his overuse of the term "block party". Otherwise, was very entertaining.

he did say that he meant that in the sense that there were 4 good ball handlers on the floor at once for SU. Considering this team, they would be hard press to have less than 3 unless they went with a line up of Melo, Keita, and Xmas.

I don't mind Dickey for the bottom-rung Big East games. The announcing is so hilariously bad that I enjoy it...of course it helps that the team is running all over its opponent.
