Did Cuse loss cost SD State's Coach Dutcher the MN job?

If I'm reading between the lines here, I'm guessing that Minn wanted the younger coach. And the 61 year old coach has no problem toughing it out in San Diego.

I would also say that the San Diego State guy didn't seem hungry enough for the job, saying give me a couple days before the interview.

I could see needing a couple days to make a decision if you are offered, but why is scheduling an interview something you "need some time" for?

Perhaps he really didn't want the job.

Yeah, 61 years old, living in San Diego is much nicer than Minnesota, and he's built up a pretty good program. Even though it's your alma mater, the grass isn't always greener.

I mean Fisher built it. But he's carried the torch and has kept it running well.
