I began my career long ago as a scientist for the National Park Service at Indiana Dunes. We lived half way between Michigan City and LaPorte, IN. Obligated to attend a wedding in Chicago this weekend (grr), we decided to go early and visit our old haunts. We drove into LaPorte and found it still to be a small nothing of a city. How it could host a school like La Lumiere that brings in top talent still baffles me.
