would this offense get us back in the door with kids who want to go get the deep ball and score TDs?

You mean in recruiting? We were in the running (I guess still could be) for a big time receiver from NJ, Donald Stewart, but basically stopped recruiting him when we decided we didn't want another WR in the class. At this point he's probably headed to Michigan or Stanford, though.

yeah. this offense needs a deep guy with speed to work. hopefully one who knows how to go get the ball. we dont want to be a team of 6 slots guys and no WR other than Ish.

Well, the deep guy with speed could still potentially be Estime next year.

Next year will be a big year for wr recruiting. Assuming Babers is the guy, he will likely be all over guys like White and Harley who also has BG offers. I bet he'll go hard at Daewood as well.

We need more than one deep option.

Maybe Custis gets a shot with the new staff. Unless he has horrific hands, I don't understand how you let that size and athletic ability ride the aluminum.

Yep. I have to think hiring Dino would make Daewood happy, and it should hopefully help with White also. If we retain Acosta, that would REALLY go a long way toward locking up White. That kid loves Acosta.

You can never have enough talent out Wide, but, I don't believe we are as sub par at WR as everybody else. I think we've got a healthy amount of talent out there.

If Babers is the guy, I'd look for at least two more to come aboard this class though.

Wonder if he'd consider going after Lindsey Scott's favorite target, Douglas Coleman. 6-1, 175, offers from Arkansas State and New Mexico State. Only rated as a 2-star guy by 2 4 7 but hey, this late in the cycle, you have to take a few flyers. And based on Twitter interactions I've seen, he would jump at the chance to join his QB.

His HUDL claims he runs a 4.41...57 catches, 1356 yards, 13 touchdowns this season...

I would think if Babers would have him that Acosta would want to learn under someone who could make him a VERY hot commodity in the next few years.

Acosta's recruiting chops and an acute knowledge of the Dino Dome Spread he would be able to name his price.

My understanding is that Acosta would prefer to say at SU, so I guess we'll see.

Does Bowling Green have any WR commits that would be worth bringing in to the ACC?

Terrence Landers Jr. 3 star WR from Ohio

Sharif Saleem 2 star WR from Ohio

Kyree Calli 2 star WR from PA

Would be nice if he looked at some JUCO's for a "band-aid" and bring in some guys that route ASAP until he can get on the recruiting trail for WR's in the coming years

:bang:

Any receivers from BGSU or one's that committed to BGSU that might make the move to Cuse?

Roger Lewis is only a sophomore. He'd look GREAT in our orange.

I can't see him or any of the other WR's leaving. Teo Redding is another soph, 6'1", but a beanpole. He's been pretty explosive at times. Janarvis Pough is a freshman from Fla that took a shirt, 6'1" supposely has 4.41 speed...

I remember reading something on this board or a separate article that stated Babers has gone the juco route in the past.

By some posters on here you'd think Ishmael is the second coming of Marvin Harrison.

I think that Irv might be moved I like our two monster WR they are getting a new life and i have always liked Sean i look for him to become a very good WR. I think we will be fine. Bris and Ish starting with enough depth add a juco and we are good

Ishmael is very, very good. If he had a senior Marvin Graves throwing to him this year like Harrison did his sophomore year, I would bet his production would have been doubled.

SO Marvin Harrison: 41 catches, 813 yards, 7 TD
SO Steve Ishmael: 39 catches, 570 yards, 7 TD

Through two seasons:

Harrison - 43 catches, 836 yards, 7 TD
Ishmael - 66 catches, 985 yards, 10 TD

I realize it's a different era, and Marv is one of the greatest WRs of all-time. But yes...Ishmael is an excellent young receiver. He'll go down very high in the record books at SU assuming he stays here.

For one more comparison: Alec Lemon, our all-time leading receiver

Through two seasons - 61 catches, 692 yards, 5 TD

Keeping in mind, Ish has been catching passes and being thrown to by SEVEN QBs in his two seasons.
