Did you ever notice...

I don't think that's all surprising. When you think about all the Syracuse fans all over. They probably swing in to catch up on things Syracuse but read the board like a newspaper. Mix in recruits...their families...coaches...lurkers...

Always wondered if it was accurate.
I think it has been that way from the first board we started on. Pretty sure it is true of all Internet message boards open to the public.

There are a lot of people who like to read threads but are not comfortable posting.

I went to the 2013 Final Four in Atlanta with my daughter. I knew there was a bar/restaurant where the Cuse fans hung out, but when we got there, there was a long line to get in and then there were a LOT of people sitting outside and all the tables were taken. I felt very intimidated. Finally I called out, “Syracusefan.com! Are any of you on it?” Immediately this one table hailed me. They had a few chairs and they welcomed me and my daughter. When I asked who they were, it was no one I recognized.

’Oh, yeah,” they said, “we’re lurkers.” The nicest people!

I guess I can comment on this maybe why because I just joined a month or maybe longer ago. I would frequently come to this forum and read comments and to see what peoples opinions were about various topics. I did not join at first because I wanted to see what type of people comment here first. Some forums are so caustic that any comment you make someone is very rude and is looking to just argue. Some forums always drag politics in to it. This forum seems to have members that like to debate in an adult way and leave name calling and politics out of it. Thats just my two cents.

Your wrong and your a stinky radical liberal poo-poo doody head!! :p

j/k - welcome!

Agree 144% - the signal to noise ratio here is pretty solid (just avoid the game threads ;)) but -
when you inevitably encounter one of the prolific purveyors of “noise”, remember that the Ignore feature is your best friend.

There are over 1,000 "guests", but also over 100 bots (I assume the major search engines, along with ad bots, which is why we ban certain words/phrases, and certain topics on the main board).

I live in Palm Beach, and my wife and I eat out at restaurants often. Every time we go out to eat, we run into at least one person with an SU shirt or hat on.

Is it the same guy every time? I think I see him every time I go out too.
