So with time running out and Rodriquez dribbling into trouble, Weber signals to the ref for a timeout with about 2.5 seconds left. The ref clearly sees him and shakes his head back and forth NO as if a timeout is not allowed there. This was BEFORE the kid released the ball.

Credit to Weber that he did not lose his , because believe me, we would have.

He tried it with less than 2 left and the ball handler was in the air, heading out of bounds. I have no problem with them not granting it.

This is PARTIALLY true. The ref never shook his head no while he was calling the timeout. Weber signaled for a 20 with about 1.7 secs left. The refs just never saw him because they were watching the drive.

Webers a bad coach but credit to KSU for fighting out of a 20 point hole. Game could have gone either way at the end and LaSalle after blowing a 20 point lead somehow managed to not choke on any of their free throws and hit em all (cause they sure as shoot weren't making fgs) which was the difference.

That was a great game. Maybe the best of the first round b/c it was pretty well played by both teams down the stretch.

He deserves what he got IMO.

Fine if you want to let it play out and not use your TO but when you see a pick and roll get absolutely blown up at the top of the key and your PG dribbing back and forth with no purpose there's 0 excuse for not calling a TO there. He should have been up in the ref's grill immediately screaming for it rather than waiting 3-4 more seconds and signaling for a 20.
