We actually moved faster at times. And let shrader do things that dungey would do. They trusted him more it appeared. I like the potential with Shrader. Devito would always check down and look to the sideline. Never trusted the play. Relied on sideline. Not smart enough to know why but there’s a clear difference.

What was different besides speed? We threw the ball 15 times lol. We ran the ball down a G5 school’s throat. It’s not some super special playbook

shrader made 4-5 plays that TD probably cant make. He also cant make 50% of the throwing plays that we even try with TD.. We wont run 50 times a game and win against these teams without at least trying to throw to keep them out of the box..

We don’t win this game with TD. So yes, GS has things to improve on. But GS is the best QB for this team between the 2 and it’s really not close.

How can you say that. TD could easily make that first throw with Alford. There is a score. He could have made the other deep throw that GS threw a duck. We already saw Devito run in a score against Ohio so we know he can run. Anyone can hand the ball off to Tucker. As it was his ineptitude at passing almost cost us the game. We won but it was because of Tucker who deserves 44 tomorrow

I think there were 3 deep balls that were poorly thrown, we need to at least get hands on those..

If you think TD would have helped us win this game then you have not really watched him the last few years. GS may not throw like TD but he wins!!

Yes, because I can count on one hand how many times Devito has connected with deep receivers. Just because he throws a “pretty” ball doesn’t mean he is an effective QB. Shrader saved some really bad snaps that devito would not have handeled and took some big hits and game some big time extra yards devito would not have gained. Have you watched the last 18 games that Devito has started?

That Sharod pass is one that people have bit ched about Devito throwing since he became a QB. It’s only now that GS throws it tjay it becomes a “WR should have caught it” play

I agree. But that’s not been the MO around here the last year or two. And that’s what I’m annoyed about. When someone other then Devito comes in all the excuses start to come out when the same mistakes happen.

You guys act like Devito connects on 100% of his long throws which is so far from the case. If TD was as good as a passer as everyone claims then we would have a lot better record and GS would never be needed to play.

I think it’s possible Shrader settles in and makes more throws to keep things honest. It’s also possible that Tommy doesn’t make the right reads enough and it’s what is keeping him from being the starter.

I just don’t think either thing is settled.

for perspective in 2019 Tommy went 213/337 (63.2 percent) 19 TD, 5 picks, 2360 yards in 12 games

At this point, you might as well put Adams in the backfield with Tucker and run the option. Thats what this guy can do. Embrace it. Good old Northeastern Football is back.

Hopefully, he can learn to throw a nice deep ball when we consistently see man to man all over the place. Beyond that, use what you got.
