Different playbook with Shrader

Played in 10 games, doesn’t say how many starts. 88/153 (57.5 percent) 8 TD’s, 5 picks and 1170 yards

for perspective in 2019 Tommy went 213/337 (63.2 percent) 19 TD, 5 picks, 2360 yards in 12 games
If you add in his rushing stats it closes the gap immensely.

But that’s not what he asked. He asked if shredder threw the ball. And it’s still 21 TD’s to 14 for shredder. And 2500 yards to 1800 for GS in 2 more games

This is what many people wanted, and knew we could get as a baseline with Shrader. Just running read option all game long and it's not particularly pretty but we can move the ball. It is our best offense at this point and it's pathetic that it took the staff until now to implement it.

Wouldn't mind fewer wrs, and more 2 back sets. That formation with Garrett flanked by Sean and Abdul was s e xy as hell.
It wassss!

We have 2 QB’s and before the season is over we may well need both!
We won and now we’re 3-1.
Tough next bunch with FSU, followed by Wake Forest(the team playing the best ball in the ACC so fa, and then Clemson!

Our young studs are going to get a work out in these next 3;
let’s hope we remain major injury free!
Go Orange!

And when you remember that 8 of Tommys touchdowns came against WMU and Holy Cross. Then you also remember most of his yards came on huge chuck plays or when we were well behind and had little chance of winning.

Then finally TD was in year 3 when GS was a true freshman playing in the SEC. TD put up decent stats in 2019 at face value but those of us who watched the games know the QB that he is, when your further break down the stats they tell the same story.

Sure, 8 of tommys touchdowns came against WMU and Holy Cross. His yardage came on chuck plays to Jackson and Harris, and a variety of easy check downs when we were getting killed. I still can't believe after 3 years of TD people are still dying on the hill that he is a good P5 player.

6/15 for 75 yards woukd make many people believe that the player who threw that isn’t a P5 player either

Yes, because I can count on one hand how many times Devito has connected with deep receivers. Just because he throws a “pretty” ball doesn’t mean he is an effective QB. Shrader saved some really bad snaps that devito would not have handeled and took some big hits and game some big time extra yards devito would not have gained. Have you watched the last 18 games that Devito has started?
Despite being hit as he threw, this seems pretty good. (I guess I just like being able to throw past the line of Scrimmage.)

You say the same thing about tommy devito's only P5 win as a starting Qb vs duke, last I checked it was also 6/15 for 105, and one of those went for 50 yards. Like I said both TD and GS are clearly flawed but we have seen the TD experience for three years and it doesn't work... anyone have the definition of insanity handy??

Chuck down the sidelines against Albany, the second angle from the endzone shows it was not much of a hit. The TD defenders pointing to TD's performance against albany is just baffling. He makes an occasional chuck for big yards whether that was Trishton or Taj, and that's about all he has done for 3 seasons.

That brings up a good point. Half of GS’s completions were to our RB’s behind the LOS who had to break tackles to get the 10 yards or so for each one that he is credited for

Syracuse scissors play.

It's not baffling. Tommy graded tops in the nation against them, as any P5 QB should. It's baffling that Shrader couldn't manage a passing grade against an FCS team.

GS and ED for that matter couldn't give a chit about a PFF game, I wonder what ED's PFF game vs WMU in 2018 would've been. It's far from the end all be all stat those on this board think it is, it's a bunch of guys who think they are smarter than the guys paid to make the decisions. Eventually you'll see this.

My point is that they abandoned all X's and O's. Abandoned all receiving and throwing talent. They handed the ball to Tucker, and said pretty please. Bravo to him, and the oline! I just think one guy is not a game plan. It's a hope. If we used to try to play chess? We skipped chess, skipped checkers, and went straight to Tic tac Toe. Once the other guy realizes you are playing tic tac toe? Tic tac toe is not a game that is possible to win or lose, when basic IQ is applied.

ED's grade against WMU was an 82.4. Pretty damn good.

To switch to your perspective. Garret had 5 passing grades with Ole Miss. He was moved to WR, because he had a few grades in the 30's. Ability to pass being one of them. Tommy has never gone there. To be clear? Tommy's grades were horrible in 2019. 5 passing, as well, but higher than GS. Despite our 2020 frustrations? Tommy was about a 74. P5 starter.

Go away, the only thing that counts is winning the game. You can look pretty, but if you lose its a bad game.
