Not rolling with shader from day 1 in camp. In my honest opinion, if shrader got every 1st team snap from day 1 in camp, we are 5-1. E would have had an identity since the beginning and he would have been in rhythm. I think our only loss is wake forest. Do I think our team or offense is perfect? Not at all. But I truly believe TD has been holding this team back. I hope and believe this is a bowl year and I think we will continue to make bowls for the next few years. I think we are in a good place for the future after the change.

SHRADER!

Can’t wait to see this kid play the next few years here.

He’s going to make some heads turn!

I just feel like Dino cannot make a decision by himself. Always see him talking on his headset or conversing with coaches on the sideline before each critical play based on the situation at hand. This is leading to massive time constraints of getting the play called to the field. I have NEVER seen a penalty decision made by COMMITEE of 5 different coaches and still make the wrong call! His constant relying on his assistants input is a big concern for me. After rewatching the game, I did not see Clawson asking for input on any decision before the call. Only saw him talking to assistants after the fact whether it was a failure or successful. IMO Dino has had 6 years to show that he is a P5 caliber coach, but has failed miserably.

I agree after watching Dino on the sidelines trying to decide whether to accept the penalty and have WF kick a field goal or decline.

He was on the headphones talking and there was a very animated coach on the field talking to him. It looked like complete chaos.

Dino needs be the CEO focusing solely on clock management, whether go for it on 4th down, accept/decline penalties, etc. and let his coordinators take care of the offense and defense.

It should be as simple as a staffer who has a chart (that Dino should be very familiar with) with what the analytics say to do and he can think for 2 seconds on it and make a decision. Maybe he asks one coach their opinion, but that should be it.

1.Give me the facts,
2. what do you think?
3. here's what we're doing.
4. OC/DC/[STC] - make your play call and make it a good one.

Not hiring a ST coach has to be right up there.

Special teams is generally an 'other duties as assigned' position. You hire a TE or Safeties or LB coach and they double as the Special Teams Coordinator. This isn't true across the board, as Georgia just has a STC but they by and large are a position coach first.

The coordination of our STs has been fine. Our coverage teams have been superb and once Pena got put on notice he's been good. We're out returning our opponents. 20.4 ykr to 15.2 and 9.3 ypr to 5.5.

LS has been fine. Protection has been fine.

Smitty is obviously struggling a bit 7-10 (he spoiled us his first year), but we know he can kick.

James Williams is a frosh. His first two games were adequate then he fell off the cliff against Wake. We don't know if he's injured or not since he missed the FSU game. I'm not sure if he was recruited as a place kicker or punter or both but he obviously needs some work. Punting (field position game) is really hurting us right now. I think we're only averaging about 33 yards per punt.

Punting is killing SU. Last two games there have been some major shanks. Williams punt at end of first half against Wake was a killer. We have been spoiled by good punting for years.
