Dino 2 Wins away from .500 at SU

So is this all about being able to say "I told you so" down the line? Otherwise, I don't see the point. In any case, position noted. You will be back-patted at a later stage.

No just making note that it won't matter how much Dino likes it here or what he feels he can get done in the future, if one of 5 or 6 schools come calling he's gone. Maybe this year maybe next. It's what happens and my main point is although he went 4-8 first two years, he will be the hottest commodity in college football to take a bigger position, he's probably moved ahead of the Iowa St coach. They are going to come after him big time.

I have been on this forum as long as pretty much anyone other than a select few, been right 1,000 times wrong 10,000 times, like I care or anyone else does for that matter. I can't afford for my internet ego to take such a hit, what would I do?? Obviously everyone wants him to stay.

Here’s why you may be wrong (and probably are wrong.)

Dino’s significant value and his reputation is built on turning things around. He has not shown that he can manage a superior program over a long period of time. Not that he can’t, but he hasn’t shown that yet.

So the school’s that will come after Dino hardest are going to also be the most desperate in need of “A Turnaround Specialist”. The bad news for SU is that desperate schools and more desperate boosters may be willing to throw a huge bag of cash at him.

I don’t expect someone in their mid-fifties to turn down “life changing” money.

The good news for SU is that Dino will have to factor in the achievability of each turnaround task. The higher the compensation, the higher the risk.

It’ll have to be one Hell of an opportunity. SU is a good place to work for coaches and a good place for their families to live. $500k in CNY is a lot better than $500kin Central New Jersey or Washington, DC.

It's too easy to say that he'll just jump at the bigger name school with more money. It's probable, sure. But there's hope too. Briles took a doormat and built something where he wasn't leaving until they kicked him out (narrator voice: they did). I think Dino has this same streak.

We'll see. He's obviously really smart and doesn't make snap decisions. I'd bet my house he weighs everything thoroughly... and that gives us a chance no matter what.
