Dino and the GOAT

This is somewhat of an ignorant question but why don't we see Jim Brown around SU? Is there any bad blood?

This is a powerful picture for our program. If Dino leads Syracuse to real and sustained prominence he will be part of the Ernie Davis / Jim Brown legacy. The first African-Am FB HC at SU is a historic role to play.
I love this picture.
Imagine if were to win the playoff. First African American Heisman winner, first African American coach to win a National Championship in football.

Brown is one of the more fascinating characters in sports history. Skill aside - race relations, spousal relations, gang relations, melding sports and entertainment.....he truly has been at the forefront of so many high impact issues in his lifetime. His story is well known but it seems as if it has never been well told.

I get annoyed with these questions. No offense. Lebron James would be an average player if he played in the NBA when defense was allowed.

Well, he's like 70, so hard to say he would average more than 80 yards a game. Respectable, but not GOAT.
(Gotta consider the better training he would have received also.)
Reminds me of a question they once asked Mickey Mantle about how he thought contract negotiations might go if he played for Steinbrenner. He allegedly said that he would start by saying "Mr. Steinbrenner, we are about to become partners."

That reminds me of the similar Ty Cobb story...

Louis Prima : With all the great players playing ball right now, how well do you think you would do against today's pitchers?

Ty Cobb : Well, I figure against today's pitchers I'd only probably hit about .290

Louis Prima : .290? Well that's amazing, because you batted over .400 a... a whole bunch of times. Now tell us all, we'd all like to know, why do you think you'd only hit .290?

Ty Cobb : Well, I'm 72 ing years old you ignorant son of a bitch.

He’d be a second round pick who some team with a BS QB runs into the ground for 4 years and then cuts because “you don’t invest in running backs”.

Different, worse game now.

On the bright side the Patriots have taken the best RB in the draft for the second straight year. The best QB is gonna have the best running game.

Look for the copy cat NFL that’s always a step behind Belichick to draft 5 RBs in the first round next year.

If he was 6’2” at 232 with no target training and lineman at the time weighed that imagine what he would weigh and how fast he would be. He would probably weight about 255 to 260 faster and stronger
That's exactly what I meant by, "if he had the training regiment today's athletes do.

hes been around sometimes. im sure traveling isn't easy for him now. but hes been at su a few times over the past 10 years. he was here a couple years ago.

I understand the sentiment but no he wouldn't. I don't wanna imagine a 2009-2014 LeBron that was allowed to handcheck. And i wouldn't want to be the defender that had to get physical with him.
Bill Lambeer wouldn't let him get free dunks like he got his whole career. The nba has been awful since 96

Lol, Bill Lambeer weighed 245. Less than LeBron. What’s he gonna do? Foul him and get the worst of it?

I’m glad teams aren’t allowed to thug ball their way to titles. That’s not basketball.

Yawn. Hed break his jaw. Duh.

seems to me that thin skinned kevin durant would be more likely to suffer in an association that allowed bad boys style defense.
Agree on both. Harden wouldn't be allowed to soccer style fake his garbage phantom fouls either.
