Dino Babers using 'state of the union' meetings to get to know his players (ESPN)

“We have weekly meetings and we call them ‘The State of the Union' since we are so close to DC,” Babers said in a recent conversation with ESPN.com.

I guess there's a new marketing campaign coming? DC's College Team?
That gave me a chuckle...most Hoya fans tell us Cuse is located in the Tundra/Southern Canada.

Prob to recruits. People want us to recruit NJ and downstate so heavily - but DC/MD/VA isn't that much more of a drive.

"That is not an issue now, though players have no idea what to expect out of practice when it begins." lol expect to do conditioning like you've never done conditioning before... Another thing about Babers approach to evaluating the roster is that I'm super excited to see what the depth chart looks like when it comes out.

Or DaJuan Coleman ... timely!

Maybe Coleman can get a 5th year to play DE for Babers. Draft may be tough with his knee history. 6-9 / 268lb

NY times from 2012 : "DaJuan said that football was his first love as a child, when his size and aggression —he gets that from his mother —allowed him to play defensive end and tight end on the varsity team at Fowler High School as an eighth grader"
