Dino / Player Presser after BC

Arguably our two best players are gone next year as well, Coleman and Alton. Not sure how this team is any better without those guys on d
Robinson has been by no means one of the best players this year. Today, he had one tackle and I watched him stand up and do nothing time after time. Today, he quit!

I’ve noticed his effort has been hit or miss. I don’t think he is a first rounder. I also understand he was double teamed often early in the season. I just don’t see the motor that I would have liked to see.

Today he struck me as a guy that just wants to rush the passer, and so this game wasn’t for him.

You have to watch him on that Bailey 29 yard TD run. He just didn’t care.

Just my opinion, but I think Dino should think long and hard this 2 weeks about what seniors should see snaps from this point forward. Program is bigger than them, treat the rest of the season like the bowl practices you’re not going to get and build for next year. Find your leaders.

It's just discouraging to see things fall apart so quickly after such a great season.

This is a lost season. It was a lost season since the first 3 minutes of the Maryland game. Something is broken and Dino needs to figure out how to fix it. This is new to him as a coach. It will be interesting to see how he responds and rebuilds for 2020.

He won’t be able to fix it next year. It’s all about about his philosophy. It’s going to take another coach.

11 losing seasons in the past 15 years.

Clearly changing coaches every 3-4 years isn't having the desired result.

Sometimes you just have to pick a lane.

Agree. We've been churning the staff for 15 years and that doesn't work. I don't even want wholesale changes in the assistant coaches: each one of those guys recruits a certain area and has developed relationships with coaches, parents and players and you cut that off when you fire somebody. There should be some changes and some re-thinking of what we are doing but cleaning house just leaves you with an empty house.

They weren’t in cover two.

They were in man when foster bit. You can still blame coaching- why wasn’t he pulled after the first bomb, why not mix things up and stick in another d tackle, why not change linebacking personnel- but enough with this cover 2 stuff.

If you have decent talent and players who play within the system, it doesn't matter what D you play. You'll have a fair amount of success. Cover 2 IMO is a decent system to run in college BUT players can't make mistakes in it or it exposes the D big time. It also has the propensity to be exploited by certain types of offenses, especially an offense with a strong running game like BC.

He has played himself into a late round pick. His attitude and play the last three months will cost him millions.

There are so many problems with this team. Where do you start & where do you go next?

Ya, They haven’t fixed one thing this season. As a matter of fact they are regressing and more problems are springing up. At this point I think we are better off letting the damn bust and build it up from scratch in the offseason. Time to clean house and cut ties with all the zero value add people, the quitters and guys with toxic attitudes. Get the young guys more run without unnecessarily burning redshirts and for god sakes find some player leaders on this team for next year.

not arguing here...but we played every available DTackle even Gros was in the rotation. Lakiem Williams was active - had 15 tackles - but all 3 struggle to get off blocks. I would’ve added a 4th LB instead and gone to a 4/4 but i don’t think there were many answers for yesterday.

But LaFamilia. How’s that working?

Not good. I like Dino a lot but if he is unable to do what needs to be done in the offseason to turn this program around then he needs to go too. I’m really questioning his leadership. A good leader doesn’t let his team go to crap like this right under his nose.

BC did exactly what I expected them to do. I didn't think we'd be able to stop the run for 4 quarters despite some people on here looking to previous games as indications we could stop some RB's at times. I knew the D would get worn down and Dillon is a fantastic RB IMO.

So I agree, there isn't much the D could have done. We just aren't in a spot to stop this style of play with where we are at in the season and our personal. It just is what it is whether people find that acceptable or not.

Next year could be Dino’s 2008 GERG season. once you lose the commitment and buy in it’s hard to get back. These players checked out. I’m beginning to question the future w Dino. I know it’s sacrilege to say but I’ve never seen a team quit like this w decent talent.

My first cracks in confidence in Dino are starting to form. Still, he got us our best season in decades and our best win in over 30 years.

Family and sticking with people is admirable, but our fan base deserves better. He needs to make changes in the off season. Next year must be better. I’ll give him a bad year, that happens, but two coming after a 10 win season is unacceptable at our level.

Still, he’s brought of joy with the Clemson game and last season...I want him here and still believe he’s the guy.

Looks like he is playing safe. Doesn't want to get injured.

LaFamilia. Feels Rutgersesque. He’s making millions of dollars to make tough decisions. Do it!

Agree. Do something, anything, different

I don’t really get why Elmore is playing offense too. I watched one play (want to say 8 minutes left 3rd quarter) and he was clearly just in for pass protection. He didn’t do anything. At all. Just stood there. It was 10 on 11.

Agreed, and honestly, can't blame him. Why risk an injury that prevents him from competing in combine and other pre-draft stuff which would cost him millions; especially when it appears the rest of the team has given up and the season is pretty much a lost cause.

It's kind of the Syracuse thing on O, 10 on 11 on the gridiron and 4 on 5 (5 spot) on the hardcourts. ;) :)

um...cause you are a leader?
