Dino...u got a mess...

He's starting his NIL selling his 34 jerseys. Doesn't seem like he's going anywhere.

No and why would he. He's the man here. It's not like he could walk into a top 10/15 team guaranteed starter and be the man. Not easy. There's a lot of good running backs out there.

...and for as good as he's been he can be better. He needs to be better at pass pro and he still leaves yards on the field. But he should be wearing 44 if he wants it.

Most were on the 2 deep at the beginning of the year.
Not insignificant/easy to replace losses.
And can only be more important as the season wears on(Injuries?).

No they weren't. TD and Harris were but not the others and TD got beat out. Howard was 4th string for cripes sake.

he had 2 long runs Sat.. neither one he took to the house. had the first one got there we probably win the game as it was followed by the pick.. Het he could be playing for Elite Clemson and getting 25 yds a game too..

I agree he needs to get better at pass protection.. Show he can catch better and work on his footwork.. The holes we just dont get thru because of getting tripped up is really the next step in his progression.. Not sure how much faster he can get but thats always a plus if it can get better.

I think Dino has - and is part of our - problems, but we could have Saban here and kids are going to leave. Nature of the beast now and makes recruiting and depth even more important. I don't think Dino is the guy and keeping him is an easy and cheap way of settling, but I'm not running him off because kids are leaving.

He hasn't run anyone off nearly as talented as Kadary.

We've played three good to very good teams really tight.

We've made the switch at QB.

Our OL is better including having a sneak peek at a true frosh that might be legit.

Our defense is really good.

We need to fix our clock management and execution of end-of-game calls and figure out punting and kicking... all of that is not insignifcant, I admit.

But does anyone think we'll get blown out this year? Honestly, would 3-2 to end the year shock anyone? Would 4-1?

We are fine. Kids are going to transfer. We won one game last year. We are clearly better. Yes, I had having to have patience in year six, but here we are. And if you are ready to bounce Dino, you better have the solution ready that keeps Sean Tucker here, our key defensive players, our key coaches and at least has a swap in for Shrader if you are ready to lose him with a change.

Otherwise, let's see how the season plays out.

Aware that maybe the “bad late game manager” critique may not be enough to get rid of Dino, a fan pushes “you got a mess narrative” into the middle of the table

meanwhile, the team is playing its best ball since 2018, our RB is about to over 1,000 yds, our QB is entertaining as hell, and we’ll have a legit chance in every game we play
agree with much of what you said. too bad dinos growth does not match the players growth. he may have reached his peter principle.

To your point -- I wouldn't be surprised to see this team qualify for a bowl, the way that they're playing. They have five games left -- need to win 3. Getting wins these next two weeks would go a long way toward achieving that goal.

If they stub their toe either of the next two, I don't think they can get there. But I don't expect neither VT nor BC to be able to slow down the run the way that FSU and Clemson were able to do, with their athletes.

Agree with the pragmatism around Dino's faults. But this team is a lot closer to sustained success than a portion of the fanbase believes.

Howard's on the 2 deep vs Albany...with Taj and TD...
I was actually thinking about Aaron Hackett as well but he left before spring football.

guys out with injuries are on our two deep. We don't put a lot of stock in it. In actual game play anytime another RB got carries after Tucker, it wasn't Howard. It was Lutz, Adams or Adams, Lutz, then Howard. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hackett has 1 catch for 2 yards all year long at Kent. At least for stats, that transfer has not seemed to work out for him.

Our margin of error is getting slimmer and slimmer. Agree that we likely have to win the next 2 to have any hope.

Louisville on the road has been a house of horrors. But they're the worst of the final 3 teams.

NC State on the road is a really big ask.

Pitt throwing the ball around in the climate controlled Dome is a pretty big ask, but stranger things have happened at home.

Yiu’ll find that a lot around here. We’ve been turning the corner since Shafer. Luckily we won only one game last year so being able to argue improvement was almost guaranteed.
My wife bought an old discounted tshirt at the New York State fair several years ago. On the front Syracuse Football on the back "It Starts Now" think it was from the marrone era but sadly it applies every season :)

Interesting that all the portal guys are on the offensive side of the ball (at least I think so).

All true - we are better but I'm not sure we have played anyone that I would label "very good". The Clemson team that came in Friday night was not. My concern is that even as we improve there could be a scenario that we win 1 league game in a year where the ACC is the worst I have seen it maybe ever (but for sure since we have been a member).

I too think we have to let it play out and hope Dino shows the doubters that he is the guy. However not moving forward because we may - may - lose some guys who have shown ability yet no wins, seems like settling. I don't want to settle.

Going to be an interesting few weeks for the future of our program.

i'd agree it's not a good look. impact players leaving a program mid season reflects badly on any program.

speaking of "not good looks" what's dino got tucked into his shirt behind him every game? looks like either a large comcast satellite link or a big square colonoscopy bag. he bends over and it's a big boxy bunch behind him.

Its a Qieji Board

Could be worse. Could be UCONN

True. What's also true is we would be exactly them if it hadn't been for the graces of the ACC and their extending us that life saving and incredibly fortunate life line. It's why I don't ever do any bashing relative to the questionable reffing, 'southern' NC favoritism tilt, Rebel ACC garb/malarkey relative to our Yankee/northern existence, etc.

It's human nature to take things for granted. And, it's 100% the same deal here now that we are IN. It's also just as convenient to blame, or contribute are current state of existence to us being in such a prejudice league, etc. after their perpetual gift/bailing us out from absolute irrelevance.

This isn't a Syracuse "thing" of kids transferring out during the season. It's the transfer portal opportunity. If a player doesn't feel they are going to get playing time or going to start they transfer out. It's a good idea of not having kids have to sit out a year if they transfer that has gone wrong.
You know the portal is a "big thing" when Dr Pepper uses it as a theme in their commercials.

Well, maybe we get a good enough lead going forward where decisions don't need to be made.
