Dino vs Bronco for ACC COY

SU and UVA were both picked to finish last in their division. We’ll have to wait to see how the season plays out. They are both deserving. Dabo has also done another great job.

To discuss the actual point, very difficult to choose. Both have far, far exceeded all expectations regardless of how their seasons finish out from here.

gbo , it is really difficult for the coach of the team that was expected to win the conference to win COY. It may actually be easier for Dabo to win National COY than conference COY.

You mean, the guy who somehow managed to overcome the demotion and defection of his QB1, and the temporary injury of his All-World Wunderkind QB2, and had to rely on his future NFL RB and FOUR future NFL D-Linemen to rally late in the 4th quarter to barely beat a team that hadn't been ranked in 17 years, at home - that guy?

Yeah, no.

I mean its UVA and a little too early for this I can see Pitt and/or Liberty knocking them off at home before they face tougher road games vs VT and GT. I guess if they beat all 4 the IU loss can be overlooked but I peg them for 2-2 at best.

Seriously though come to think of it its UVA I'm gonna NAIL Liberty ML against them hope they beat Pitt so its a big number in their favor might pay for a decent vacation. Hope they can keep it up 1 more week for me.

That other side of the ACC is miserable beating Miami at home this year must have been fun and a nice jolly up on the field for them and BC but it doesn't mean squat IMO that team is bad.

Still don't know why Bronco left BYU. Can't believe BYU didn't put Mangum in after the new kid couldn't muster more than 6 points vs NIU at home in Provo. Yuck.

I too thought the Bronco hire was silly. He's out of his geographic element on the East Coast, etc. I still am not completely sold on the hire. But, I'll say this ... he is a quality football coach, and while you could not have forecast this a few years ago, the level of "suck" and "demise" at Maryland, Virginia Tech, and UNC should afford Mendenhall and Co. a nice window of opportunity to secure some prep talent from the Middle Atlantic states.

I hope SU can pluck a quality player or two or three out of those same states.

OK, how about a compromise? Bronco wins the ACC coach of the year while Babers wins the National Coach of the Year?
