Dino's Game 1 Press Conference | Colgate

Glass half full guess is that they want Thompson to have another week or so of recovery before Purdue. That is just a guess, to be clear.
That is my guess as well. I didn't think he looked fully back in the practice clips, though that was before he got his jersey switched from green to white. Probably still working his way back to 100% recovery. Maybe he's building up strength and stamina still?

Yes but Wohlabaugh is also starting ahead of Bradford and Ilaoa...kind of. I guess Ilaoa may be sharing reps at the Center spot.
I'm assuming Wohlahaugh is starting at RT, and if so, he likely beat out More / Long Island Cruz.

If Reed and Wohlabaugh are starting I see that as a good thing. We pretty much know what we have in the returning pieces and if they are replacing them they are even better. Love it.

Ellis, Ilaoa and Bradford as subs is a pretty good depth.
Ellis will play when heatlhy. Both IIaoa and Reed will play. Reed has the better upside but is still learning the offense. Wohlabaugh Petry and More are all very close at the RT position. I will still feel good if we get banged up at the position.

I wouldn't mind if they make Ellis earn his way onto the field. He has a ton of potential, but could have hard time getting/staying on the field if he's 375

Sounds like we have good depth at OL. very promising
If the DL follows suit this is a scary football team. We will know if we are playing for a bowl game or pushing for double digit wins after the Purdue game.

I think it is the latter but we are basically starting the season with two FCS games so we aren't going to be able to take many positives away until week 3.

Oh we can take positives away.

At least you can hear the questions now.

I couldn't really hear the questions, but I could see the people asking the questions, which was a bit better.

Of course, I'm kinda old now I guess as evidenced by my lack of hearing ability and the fact that I thought some of those people asking questions looked like they were 11 years old.

That's my guess, as well.

And as we know, Lowery / Sparrow are proven commodities. So not a big problem to have a guy like Lowery play with the 1's.

I really like that they voted Denaburg a captain. We all know he has the leg, but questioning the accuracy after the spring game. A little reassuring that the team seems to have faith in him.

Bummer that Pena can't go game one but its exciting to see what Donovan Brown can do as a starting slot guy.

Love the comments about Rocky Long and the likelihood we see good quick adjustments. I'm sure he's seen it all and knows how he can counter any offense thrown his way. So much experience there.

Can wait for the season!

Oh wow, Brown as the slot receiver.

Dino said Lockett is fine / available.
Interesting. Not surprised to see Darton listed first but wasn't expecting Fuentes to overtake him. Could still be an issue of not back at 100%.

Yes. It will be hard to imagine them changing the line up if some one else is playing at a high level

As Dino said in reference to Brown starting because Peña has an owie, there’s nothing wrong with having someone be Wally Pipp’d.
