To start his weekly news conference, Syracuse coach Dino Babers says he won’t take any questions about Chris Elmore due to “federal reasons.”

Syracuse HC Dino Babers had little to share on FB Chris Elmore due to FERPA. Indicated that it’s not an indefinite absence. Babers spoke highly of Fr. TE Max Mang’s potential. Said the German is still adjusting to the college game, but his role won’t limit SU’s play calling.

Coach Babers said running back Sean Tucker had good breakout long runs, but he was particularly impressed with his shorter 3-4 yard runs against Ohio

Babers on importance of beating Rutgers: “I think New Jersey has a lot of good players. We understand it’s a recruiting battle.”

When asked about Duce Chestnut, Babers said in 35 years, he's never seen or heard of anybody getting a game ball in their first collegiate game

Babers speaks on the decision of making Duce Chestnut the starter and how impactful he was throughout camp. "Duce was making plays in training camp. The quarterbacks started going after Duce and about halfway through they realized."

Babers calls Rutgers an explosive group, citing their kickoff and punt returners. "These guys, if they get out on us, they're going to be hard to get."

Babers addressing the 20 plus carry workload of Sean Tucker. Babers believes Tucker can handle the workload and the backfield is very deep in depth. "We wanted to see if he could carry the ball that much. The ball is not that heavy."
