Dino's Game 3 Press Conference | Purdue

Quick question: whatever happened to Price the NM ST transfer? I really like Allen, but sure would be nice to have another quality RB on the depth chart.
Saw him on the sideline briefly. Looked happy/engaged enough

I don't agree with your last paragraph - at all.

Shrader has taken his play to another level. A team daring him to beat them through the air is not going to be a viable strategy, the way he's slinging it.

I think we'll move the ball on everybody, similar to how Wake did last season.

I agree with your point on two fronts:

1) To sell out to stop Tucker is a lot tougher this year than last year - he seems (I may be wrong) to be running between the tackles more AND he is being used as a weapon in the pass game. If you try to shut him down, you are looking at stopping the inside run, the outside run and then when he lines up as a WR. It's starting to remind me of USC and Reggie Bush (I know, I know, maybe hyperbole). You can't just "stop the run/stop Tucker" regardless of Shrader. You are talking about a wholesale scheme that hits on various levels of offense. And with his vision and toughness and speed, it will still be tough to stop him.

2) Shrader/Anae/Beck/New WRs are a fully different ball game this year. And with each win, they grow with confidence. Shrader was offered by Bama, the team that is on the greatest CFB run in the history of CFB. He has immense talent that, when harnessed correctly, translates to production on the field. He has great vision, is probably too tough for his own good and while his throwing form isn't perfect (I know you can argue release point, etc), he still gets the ball where it needs to go and after those first few drops in game 1, the WRs are making catches.

Does that mean we're ready to take on UGA and Bama right now? No, of course not. But with our offense operating with the weapons and execution it has, plus our D being solid, plus our kicking game getting us points on the board relentlessly... it should mean that if we are even with a team we are facing and us not turning the ball over or committing 18 penalties, we should be able to get points up on that board.

Purdue is a good team. No doubt. They can definitely beat us. But I truly expect a win and this game being the "ok, Cuse is legit, let's pay attention" in the national media. Also, having this be the second game, not the first, after Thompson and Rhino went down is huge.

My guess is either he has an owie, or he's been a little slow picking up the playbook. I'm a little surprised we haven't seen him either.

did I hear wrong, or did the Purdue reporter call Tucker "Murphy"?

chris tucker do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth? GIF

Purdue Coach said something about making sure they see the ball, he has heard a few things. What was that about?

We haven't played a decent D yet. Purdue will tell us a lot. We should have our way with UVA and Wagner. But the next 5 games (NC State, Clemson, Notre Dame, Pitt, FSU) are against teams that can give us problems.

Remember there was no book on our O. There was a lot more guess work with the new staff and system. Purdue has the advantage of seeing what we have run thus far, AND they have a better D than our previous 2 opponents.

In the Internet/Youtube age, they need to have the reporters mic'd up, or have them go to a mic, or bring a mic to them
Agree with you but also think we should recognize progress with the AD now having a camera on the reporters when they are asking a question. That is a big step up in production quality and I think we should recognize that.

Anae and Beck have been together for 8 or 9 years. I'm sure there is a lot of playbook left that wasn't in the first 2 games.
As long as they can beat teams with basic stuff, they won't dig deep into the plays they can run.
That's what is exciting about this staff, there's more to come.

That's fine, but I'm not much of a lip reader.

Purdue - if they get by us - really has a chance for a pretty special season. Minn, Md, Ne, Wiscy, Iowa and Illinois....not exactly Murderer's Row.

Minnesota is first in total offense and total defense. That’s outstanding no matter who you have played.

Disagree. There is a book on the Anae/Beck offense--just check out the UVa films from the past few seasons.
