Dino Babers on his weekly Zoom call with the media, when asked about Liberty coming to the Dome this week: "They've got an Auburn transfer back and ready to go. They've got a good back and an extremely good receiver. They're a complete football team."
Babers on an update regarding Tommy DeVito's injury: "There's no update. I've got to get back to our medical people, but it seems like it's the same from what I've said after the game Saturday." Babers did say he's still on crutches with his left foot in a boot.
Babers on reports that DeVito's out for the season: "I haven't seen the reports. I haven't been on the internet. Saw him yesterday in the team meetings. I just need to talk to our medical people. I should know something by today."
Babers on so many injuries through four games: "It's what makes the game unique. We're going to move forward with what we've got."
Babers on what he expects out of QB Rex Culpepper: "Rex has been with us from the beginning. He knows this offense as well as anybody. It's just about executing and doing things right. He's got a lot of knowledge, we've just got to be able to execute around him."
Babers on the QB depth chart after DeVito's injury: "We've seen them a little bit but we haven't been able to have the scrimmages they need. They haven't had a chance to do things over the summer. It's a different week for those guys. We'll see what they can do."
Babers on the message he has for Syracuse fans who think the season's over: "I'd say think about what Duke just did to us."
Babers mentions that the younger guys on the team haven't been developed in the weight room as much as the experienced guys on other teams. He says that the team needs to match the physicality that more experienced teams have.
Babers is asked to expand on postgame comments about shifting philosophy. He said that the staff has to find ways to be productive offensively with the limited personnel it has. That said, he's committed to running his scheme long-term.
Babers on how difficult this season has been on him as a coach: "I just think it's been different. I don't look at it as a negative. Iron sharpens iron. We need to adjust and find a way to survive."

Babers on how difficult this season has been on him as a coach: "I just think it's been different. I don't look at it as a negative. Iron sharpens iron. We need to adjust and find a way to survive."
Babers on RB Sean Tucker getting banged up against Duke: "Still waiting to see what's going with Sean. I think he's going to be OK. I think he's in better shape than Tommy [DeVito]. Somebody will line up at RB and we'll give him the ball."
Babers on what he can compare this 2020 season to: "It's going to be very unique, and for those who survive, they'll be stronger than ever. When the smoke clears, you need to still be standing. It's been a wild, wild ride."
Babers with more on QB Rex Culpepper: "Rex is one of the smartest people I know. I remember visiting him at home in Tampa -- he was sitting on a Dune Buggy and I asked him where he got that. His dad told me he made it, like from the ground up."
Babers on what to expect out of Culpepper on the field: "They guy's extremely, extremely intelligent. You talk to the guy and it's almost like talking to a coach. The guy's talented and his family's talented."
Babers with more on Culpepper: "We can run our offense with him. We shouldn't be drastically changing what we do with Rex under center."
Babers with how tough it's been on players families not being able to watch their kids play in-person this season: "I was thinking about the sacrifices these players have to make in 2020. It's the first time in their lives that their families don't get to watch them play."
More from Babers on players and their families: "What a sacrifice that is. These players not being able to spend time with their families even after the game's over. The year of 2020 has been one big sacrifice for all of us."
Babers on his run defense this season, primarily after allowing 363 rush yards to Duke: "The biggest issue is that we didn't meet the physicality of the Duke offensive line. They were massive, big. They constantly kept chopping wood on our D-line. The pounding broke us down."
Babers says S Andre Cisco is out for the year. "We'll see" about RB Jawhar Jordan.
Babers on DB Garrett Williams and how he earned the starting job: "You could tell this summer that he was out to get a job, extremely serious and more so than everybody else. I remember meeting his father and him telling me, 'he's coming to Syracuse, he's playing for you.'"
Not to get on him for this (because there's plenty of actual stuff to be pissed about) but it's two days after the game, we all know Devito is out for the year just announce it and move in. The constant cloak and dagger with injuries like were Auburn or Alabama is exhausting.
The best news out of this press conference is that Rex knows how to build a dune buggy.
Duke beat the worst team in the ACC. Give us some real answersBabers on the message he has for Syracuse fans who think the season's over: "I'd say think about what Duke just did to us."
Is he saying, look at how an 0-4 team was able to play really well on Saturday?
Or is he agreeing that the season is over?

No lie that's kinda cool! The best news out of this press conference is that Rex knows how to build a dune buggy.
Well, what do you think?
Not explicitly excluded for out of conference games.Everything's fine guys. Rex Culpepper can build a dune buggy.
I'd rather hear the excuse, that he doesn't want to give a completive advantage so he's not going to go over status of injured players. By saying he doesn't know, it looks like he doesn't really care about the player. Have you not checked in with Tommy (or any other player) after he got the crap beat out of him? If not, that doesn't seem like a great coach to me. Just tell it like it is. Don't say you haven't seen him or talked to medical personnel. You should have known Saturday night or Sunday, at the latest, what the status was.
did you ever think that if isn't something that was an obvious fracture and required surgery you defer to the medical staff, wait for their complete assessment. With some injuries you need a couple of days to make a complete diagnosis.

Why not just say that then, we all know it, Liberty knows it. Stop with the fluff, and give a real answer.did you ever think that if isn't something that was an obvious fracture and required surgery you defer to the medical staff, wait for their complete assessment.
