Babers: "Excited about the four New Yorkers. The most we've had in the state of New York since I've been here."

Babers: "We wanted to go bigger with the linemen on both sides of the ball. We did that."

Babers discusses the breakout of high schoolers vs JUCO vs portal players.

Babers says the 2023 class was a fabulous class for New York. He thinks the players they got will be "contributing greatly" to the program in the future.

Babers on the players who signed: "They never waivered."

Babers notes that the players that signed are multi-sport athletes. He says normally you're a star in one sport but a good teammate in another. Thinks that helps players understand the dynamics of a team

Dino says with transfers, the approach is totally different. On visits, they don't want to go out, they want to talk to position coaches, look at how they'll be used and approach it more as a business decision.

Dino says ever since he's been here he has said anyone who commits and gets hurt they will honor the scholarship. They won't ever back off and pull it because of injury.

Babers: "Success of this class belongs to the coaches, recruiting department, support staff."

Dino: "Tony White did a fantastic job and we wish him the best at his new job at the other school." Added they are happy to have Rocky Long on board. Calls him the "standing jedi master" of the 3-3-5

Dino said Rocky is just observing the defense for the bowl game and that the interim DC (Nick Monroe) is running things for the Pinstripe

Dino on Rocky Long: "When you have the chance to get a master, you cannot turn that down. And if you're in that defensive room and want to run this defense, you can't turn that down either."

Dino on the linemen in this class: "I see guys who are bigger. I see guys with some 'tude' (attitude)."

I thought this was one of Dino’s more informative press conferences. For the most part he provided direct candid answers and I only caught one movie reference (Heartbreak Ridge I think).
