Just ate at the Dinosaur in Troy. Food is just as good, not funky like Syracuse, but much better view.

It's not too bad a view when the weather is nice - looking up and down the Hudson. Despite there being a lot of lakes and rivers in the Capital District, there are not a lot of waterside restaurants.

Stopped by there several times on my bike when I rode to my sisters in over route 7 to Route 2-2a.. Nice ride, nice pit stop going through there to hook up going to North Adams. It's a great Dino.

Agree. Have been there at least a half dozen times and have always enjoyed the food. Try the potato salad. The Troy waterfront has a lot of potential. Too bad the plans for the Syracuse inner harbor have taken so long to materialize

I really miss not working in Franklin Square/Syr... I use to walk to the Syr Dino for lunch 2-3 times a week when the weather was nice... Erawans on other days... :)

Have to be honest - the one downtown in Cuse hasn't really been all that impressive my last handful of times there. Lots of better BBQ in the area now IMHO.

I've personally found non-Syracuse Dino BBQs to be very underwhelming, but it's nice to hear that the Troy one is good.

We had one in Chicago that lasted about a day and a half. The food was fine but the atmosphere was so sterile.

fair enough. I didn't like the menu changes during COVID as it seemed to be less(removed stuff that was good) of what it was. But the big ass pork plate, and the pork/brisket platter are usually solid... I missed the smothered chicken/blackend catfish... other than that I never use to stray other than the devilled eggs and fried green tomatoes. The other items on the menu were fluff to me.
