Dion skips national anthem b/c he's Muslim?

Doesn't basically every country in the world do this?
No, not at soccer matches in most countries around the world. The only time national anthems are played is when there's a match between national teams.
 
I don't say the pledge of allegiance because of my religion (or lack thereof). Does this make me unAmerican? Why or why not?
Do you stand and remove any hats, etc.? If so, fine.

As another poster noted, you could just skip those two words. They weren't in the original pledge.
 
We are both correct. It was invented in the USA by a Canadian citizen who became an American citizen in 1925.

Rutgers people hate to admit it but Canada was involved in the first college football game too (not Rutgers; they were the first awful college football program though, so they have that to be proud of).

Those Canadians are sports geniuses, eh?
