How can you honestly know a player's strengths and weaknesses when you haven't seen them play. Please answer me that...

We've seen plenty o Triche and MCW and some people have seen some of Cooney while many know of his strengths and weaknesses from practice or what coaches have said. Why is this turning into an argument with you? people are just giving their opinion. Nothing about next year can be fact until next year happens.

And im pretty sure triche is a good combo guard, mcw is a pure pg and a very good passer because i have SEEN him do it, albeit in limited action that is why i am projecting...and if you want to tell me cooney isnt a good shooter than your lost...so where am i wrong again?

Give me any conrete evidence that you have seen with your own eyes and then you have the right to say that.

Lol, how can you? Please answer me that...
Never once did I say I know their weaknesses. I'm saying it is impossible to know without seeing it, but apparently you guys can predict the future.

It's turning into an argument bc you must be off your rocker if you think Cooney and MCW are going to be a better combo with Triche than Scoop and Waiters

I think its a Fair and deserved debate.

Its Fair to Scoop, and Dion this year.

Scoop has been Awesome!!! Not good the last 5-6 games. And not just his numbers. He just looks awesome out there.
Dion was killing it with a post threat.
He was hitting shots just beyond and inside the arc like only a advanced Jr or Senior would.

Unless school or money, imaturity, or the way the Big East packs the paint pulls away Dion for the NBA I could see him coming back.
What good is going 15-20 in the draft for someone as competitive as him? Sitting the bench in the NBA for two years. He can make 40,000 over seas easily why jump to the NBA to double that and sit the bench for a year or two? Dion is down to earth. Hes NOT a lazy guy.

He hasn't even been to Chris Paul, Nike or Lebrons camps in the offseason yet.
He should take a year showing off there. Him and Chris Paul would have a riot together.

if i had to pick one, I would pick Melo. Mainly because of my dream front court- Fab. DC2,RAK , with Baye of bench.
And i want to see what MCW can do
This would be the oppositions dream frontcourt. You win basketball games by scoring more than the other team. Melo and XMAS do not score. You cannot win going 3 against 5. My preferred frontcourt for next yr is Melo, DJC and CJFair.

I'm not going to agree with one person or another on this topic. Personally, MCW has scared me when he's handled the ball this year - seems he always leaves his feet to make a pass. But I can't wait to see how he develops.

But here's where I'm confused.

Salami, first you say it's impossible to know without seeing it, and people are predicting the future. Then you go out and make the declaration that someone must be off their rocker if they think Cooney/MCW will be better than Scoop/Waiters. Are you the only one allowed to predict the future?

Do you see the confusion here?

Oh, and if I must respond to the original topic, I'd rather have Fab back in a heartbeat for most of the reasons mentioned here already.

How do you know Melo and Xmas wont score next year? I would think both will make tremendous offseason improvements. Just look at Melo's improvement from his freshman to sophomore year. I personally think a frontcourt of Xmas/Melo/Coleman/Keita could be one of the nastiest frontcourts I have ever seen in college basketball.

With a frontcourt of Rak, Melo and DC who gets the high post who gets the low, Seriously?

Melo by far. He will be better than anything we have inside next year and at guard, I am one of those that thinks the backcourt of Triche/MCW/Cooney will be better than this years.

Two things:

1)I completely agree about the guards. No way Dion comes but if he does, it's a great problem. If not, I think we have a top 5 backcourt anyway. I think the three guards next year fit really well together, esp. MCW penetration - BT and TC will get a lot of looks. BT, imo, will dominate. It will be his team and his backcourt - no Andy, Scoop, Dion, etc. He will be a senior, will come into the season ready to go and with three years experience from top 1-15 team type teams. Anything he does wrong, is mental, such as if he pulls up and is short on his shot. When he lets his natural ability do the work, he is great - that is what I think we see all of next year. A seasoned MCW will by dynamite and what we're hearing about TC, I think we get junior and senior year Andy.

2)For Bees, is your Melo comment about a melo that comes back and improves leaps and bounds, like a third year big probably will? Or just from what we have now? From what we have now, I think *Coleman is as good as what we have inside now, if not better. Heck, last year, I thought he would've gotten time. IMO, he's a rare kid that will come in and immediately impact the game. His footwork and ability around the basketball is great, good positioning, top notch outlets, etc. Some of the other stuff will be a challenge but from day 1, we'll be able to toss the ball to him and get a basket, something we are really lacking now.

*This assumes Coleman is still the same player I've seen from previous years. I haven't seen any updates, reports, etc. So, I wonder if he is still really the top 5-10 guy I saw as frosh, soph and jun.

In the newly updated rankings Coleman is #9 in the country. Grant moved up to #36.

Melo is better on defense, Coleman on offense. Coleman is potential, Melo is a known commodity that we have to assume will improve more.
