It should. Commentators on CNBC think it likely will be approved. Both are failing businesses. The question more is can it succeed by being put together. Competition landscape is very different with Elon Musk's satellite internet service Starlink now available to rural consumers. In a related transaction, AT&T is selling its 70% interest in DirecTV to 30% owner TPG.I have to believe that there is no way this merger happens?
NFL Sunday Ticket is the only reason I stayed with Directv, but now that YouTube TV has it I am with them.ATT destroyed directv.
I have to believe that there is no way this merger happens?
Pretty sure Directv is streaming now, but I could be wrong as I am not a customer.Sinking ships, the days are long gone of needing a silver disc on your roof to get a signal.
Last ditch effort by both that probably wont end well.
They are 100% but not sure what their revenue breakdown is for streaming vs the old traditional model. As everyone knows this is a super competitive space thats still being battled. It's only a matter of time before 2-3 players control the space.Pretty sure Directv is streaming now, but I could be wrong as I am not a customer.
I'm sure they'll operate the services with their existing hardware for the foreseeable future, and just change the branding on screen/on bill. DTV has been phasing out their satellite business for years anyway.wonder how this works with all the equipment and streaming things they have going on.
It'll 100% happen. It's not 2001 anymore.I have to believe that there is no way this merger happens?
They are both satellite & streaming.Pretty sure Directv is streaming now, but I could be wrong as I am not a customer.
I know you meant this a snark but the Yahoo comparison is apt. Yahoo is still a highly profitable business that actually attracts a ton of users. Yahoo Sports and Yahoo Finance are among the most heavily trafficked sites in their respective categories. This is like Yahoo buying AskJeeves, is it not?
Nah, Google and Netflix didATT destroyed directv.
