Is baseball like some other sports where if the player misses the entire season does the insurance company make the payments. If that's the case how much are the premiums on Ellsbury.

Depends if the team purchased it .. they don’t do it on All contracts .. and even then , it’s not insured up to anywhere near the cost of the contract
