My wife was sick Saturday and missed my first board tailgate. She ended sucking it up and we made it to the game. But I was most disappointed in all the fans that left before the final whistle. We as fans have waited so long for this, and after a 4 hour game leaving 90 seconds before the end is mind boggling to me.

Winning cures all... I don’t get it either but gotta give folks a break as it was getting late. Hey at least they ******* showed up!

I don't get it either. I still stay to the end of the game whether it is Syracuse or the Lafayette Leopards or the RPI Engineers. That was how my Iowa Hawkeye father and Northwestern grandfather trained me. It used to be pretty standard everywhere but is viewed more or less as a quaint custom today.

People are weird. That’s the kind of game you stay and stand and cheer as the clock ticks zero.

We’re kinda losing recipes. People don’t “have it” anymore.

Winning won’t stop that from happening. It will always happen. Just like basketball. It’s not worth getting riled up about at all.

If they’re climbing in front of me to get to the aisle in their mad rush to get home 2 minutes earlier and they ruin my enjoyment of the moment, I will get riled up about it and they will know about it.

Happens every damn game

Me and my son left with a minute left to watch the end of the Sox game. I never usually leave early.

It’s too late...it’s too early...it’s too hot( that one was legitimate once this year)...on and on it goes. The same things that every other venue deals with. You’re either passionate about it or your not. It bugs the life out of me to see people leave in droves with plenty of time in a one score game but.....those people honestly just don’t care if we win or lose. My biggest beef... I got a freaking 40.00 parking ticket for parking in the same place I’ve parked for 20 years!!

Last week vs. UNC a couple was trying to file out past me with the game in the balance and DURING A PLAY! I had to put up my hand and say no until the play was finished. The guy apologized for trying to go in front of me. At least he had that decency.

I wish I could say I was surprised but I’m not. Not at all.

They. ******. Went. To. The. Game... who cares when they left. They bought a ticket and walked into the building. All the belly aching about attendance and now we’re complaining/ judging about when people leave... Cart before the horse FFS.

Dude 20% of what was left of the crowd emptied out with about 7-9 minutes left when we went up 10pts. I couldn’t believe it.

Yup, its a vice of attendance that is only seen at a few schools and pro teams. Its not being in your seat for kick-off or even the first few possessions and on the other side, leaving at any point in the second half when up by 2 scores to beat the crowd and "traffic ". Yes, its laughable in cuse. It happens in bad pro sports towns like LA and Miami also. But, at least LA has the excuse of the world's worst traffic.

Most of the fans making noise stayed and somehow found another level on the volume dial 200+ minutes into the game. My 6 year old made it all 4 quarters much to my surprise and only time he mentioned the noise bothering him was on the late INT and the consequent TD run by Strickland to ice it.

I wouldn't worry nor judge those that left for any number of reasons and hurt the asthetics on camera honestly. They went, thus they had a positive impact on the game in some aspects so i'd focus there. Certainly better than seas of silver and that game was exhausting for avid fans much less casuals. Thought it was a good turn out to support a team of deserving young men.

Hope they all consider coming back and bring a friend or 2 next time.
