Discovering Dino: Parts 1-3 now available

I see no reason why SU can’t be the crowning glory of Dino’s career. He visualizes his hopes and dreams and chooses his words carefully. He knows the power of words. He would like to create something here. A top 10 team every year. In the hunt for the national championship. And then to BE national champions! He is the right person in the right place at the right time.

He won’t ignore that kind of synchronicity.

This was the key passage for me:

"But they insist any decision boils down to these things: faith, loyalty, commitment, stability."

Essentially if he thinks USC offers these he'll go and I understand and respect that. To me though USC doesn't offer any of those things. Syracuse has already demonstrated those qualities to him.

Syracuse has demonstrated that in other sports as well. It’s a school committed to coaches.

I mentioned it In the other thread but I believe going forward it comes down to recruits and fans. I’m sure the competitive nature in him wants to compete for conference/national championships and this would be facilitated by an electric home field advantage and getting top notch recruits that he targets to buy in. I have no doubt that the attendance will continue to improve as we win but the question is if we can get the level of recruits that he desires. If he consistently gets beat out for recruits going forward after some successful seasons I’m sure that could frustrate him and be seen as a handicap of the job. Hopefully the evidence of us winning now helps the program get to that next level in recruiting.

PS- if he has an internal desire to go back West to be near his mother and friends or his wife prefers that...nothing we can do other than thank him for what he’s accomplished here.
