Wow the NCAA is basically giving these conferences a free redshirt to keep as many players as they want for an extra year.

This ruling will hurt the fringe HS kids who get scholarships because teams need to use them.

Also we are going to see a lot of grad transfers next year in football.
At schools who can’t keep some of their guys because they want to bring in HS recruits.

This helps us as we don’t have as many NFL prospects and these kids can develop and we can be better with experienced players.

I don't like it but this would really benefit teams like us. Fringe NFL guys like Bear and Servais back another year would be huge.

? For those who have dug into this. My son redshirted @D-1 last year. Now is at JUCO, which will play it's soccer in the spring. Would this year be a freebie too?
