I know they are thinking of player safety but if you do not let the players get ready for contact prior to the games there will be a lot more injuries during the season.

This is getting to the point of being beyond absurd. There’s no evidence that having more contact during practice puts anyone at greater risk. In fact, most coaches would tell you that it better prepares a player for a game.
