BF just got fired because:

1) Lang changed his story
2) There is a recorded phone call between Davis and LF
3) There is a third accuser whose father denies the facts

Is there something else that I am missing?

When my friend who works for ESPN texted me recently with the news about Fine getting fired, I said, "Not surprised."

And he said, "Really? Why?"

You hit the main points but the significance of them seems to have sailed past you.

A person does not need to be convicted of a charge in a court of law to be terminated by their employer for the exact same reason.

Do you really think the University would fire Fine if they didn't have the right to do so?

Regarding point 3, the dad was also accused of abuse, so his calling the son a liar needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

Not really

Lang = liar, he either lied when he denied it or he is lying now
Tape = ambiguous, and a tape that ESPN had for years and didn't think it was a story until Lang changed his story
3rd accuser = disputed account

There is a LOT of smoke here but I'm still not 100% covinced that Bernie molested anyone.

Irrelevant

the third accuser is also accused of abuse. That has to be taken in to account as well orangeman.

Yeah. No parent would send their kid to play for Bernie Fine.

Abused kids become abusing adults.

That's not to say he's telling the truth, but in this case it doesn't exactly kill his credibility.

In a report on CNN, they reported that the 3rd accuser had also accused his father some time ago and that it resulted in a state police investigation that cleared the father. They reported that the father said his son needed help but still loves him . The father said he had never taken his son to a game to meet Bernie Fine nor did he allow him to go with the team to a game in Pittsburgh. The reporter said the father didn't know his sons' motivation but that he's an angry young man who has done it before and he's sorry and hopes he gets treatment.

This story just gets wierder and wierder.

That said Bernie had to go. Just wish he'd resigned himself days ago instead of forcing it to be done.

I'm really surprised of this as well. Could he really envision himself sitting on the bench on national TV again?
