Did the players change the defensive scheme for 1 opponent?

Defensive coaching was a big problem in this game. You could possibly excuse it b/c it was a triple option team. But, the idea that you blame the players and not the coaches is pretty ridiculous, IMO.

Disagree with you 100 percent. Our defense was ill prepared for the GT offense. They looked like they had no idea what was going on. If this what HCSS calls a well prepared D, I cringe at our future with this staff. Embarrassing.

Wrong. While the players take a large portion of this the coaches take an equally slice, if not more, of this game.

It's about both. Coaching is why Tennessee just beat South Carolina despite losing all of their offensive playmakers from last year. Their is plenty of blame to go around for this loss. Both coaches and players deserve their fair share.

Your earlier comment about a 1 point loss being the same as a 50 point loss is dead wrong too. In the NFL it's true, but in college perception is everything. Getting hammered in a game being televised in multiple important recruiting areas is not good.

I totally disagree. We have talent on defense, and we just got 63 hung on us. Do you really think our defense would be that much better with improved talent? I certainly don't. Bullough definitely isn't the answer and that needs to be fixed sooner rather then later.

Offense I agree we need a talent upgrade, but still isn't that bad where we were inside the 40 for 1 total play the whole game

ok that's fine, but let's at least get beat with our stuff. obviously switching defenses wasn't the answer. the coaches made a big deal out of not dialing it back going against Clemson, but now all a sudden we make a change based on someone else? We should worry about executing our own defense and we wouldn't have to worry about the opponent. That move right there was a signal we were out matched not only on the field, but on the sidlelines.

We changed our mainstay 4-3 to a 3-4 - who is responsible for that lame brained decision? The players?

I didn't expect this team to be competitive with Clemson. And I didn't expect to win today either. But I certainly didn't expect to get blown out 56-0. The WF, Maryland, and BC games will expose how big a talent gap we have with mainstream ACC teams. I'm getting less optimistic. This staff needs to bring in a decided increase in talent level of players. And we need to upgrade at QB neither Hunt or Allen is the answer. Can they do that?
