Do we have a shot at an NIT bid?

The NIT may play with matchups, but I don't think the committee (since the NCAA has owned the NIT) makes egregious decisions in terms of who gets in because of money.

Idk why they wouldn't do the CBI, west virginia played in it a few years back when they had a down season. If JB has enjoyed coaching the boys so much why not have a chance to finish with a winning record and play some more games together?

dont want one.
This is where I am too. But I don’t think we get one anyway. The only benefits would be: the opportunity for JB to not have a losing record this year, and get Buddy another game. I am not certain those reasons are good enough to accept an invite. We

I think the CBI has an entrance fee, but I’m sure one home game would pay for that.

CBI no longer has home games.
Its a 16 team. 5 day tournament all played at one site in Florida, with the final being the Wednesday before the Sweet 16 starts.

The fact that it does not drag on too long might be attractive to some schools.
Can't see Syracuse being interested in the CBI however.

The NIT would have been different, but we are nowhere close to getting invited to that.

JB sounded when asked about a week go that he was thinking no. He said he really supports those tournaments but he said it’s most helpful when you have a young team who you want to prepare with more minutes for the next year. He said that this year being an older team and with the number of injuries they have, he was leaning not to go.

What is the CBI?
I tried a Google search for a picture of Pitt’s CBI championship banner, just to bag on them. Couldn’t even find one. That’s how irrelevant it is.
