Such messaging may actually be an indication that Jim believes his team has the [I]potential[/I] to scale the highest mountains of college basketball this year...so much so that he is now paying close attention to the kinds of 'mental disorders' that can cause talented teams to under-perform when all of the money is on the line, like over-confidence. What is not clear is if the over-confidence he's concerned about is something he's already seen signs of in practice, or if the team's been looking so good that he's starting to worry about those things that are not obvious, but which could eventually surface to ruin an otherwise promising season.

I suspect that Jim is simply [I]leaning against the wind[/I] at this point.  This would make sense if he's observed that his players are starting to notice that [I]they really are that good[/I].  But that, of course, is precisely the time when the head coach needs to tell you that "you ain't as good as you think you are...until [I]I say that you are.[/I]"
