Do we play Notre Dame week 1 next year?

In the last four years, Maryland has gone 4-8, 2-10, 9-4, 2-10. If that is too tough of an opponent, even with ND on have schedule, I just don't know what to say. I've said it before, I'll say it again. A FCS team, a MAC team or Army, a low to medium BCS team, and a good team. That's our 4. Good doesn't have to be Alabama, but a brand name team. ND fits that bill.

There's no way you can expect that Maryland game to be anything less than a toss up game based on where they and you are. So AT BEST that's a toss up game and a significant underdog game. That's going to send you in with a loss almost every year, and two losses half the time. Sorry, that's too much with the conference schedule you have and where you are as a program.

You should be scheduling to go in at 4-0 half the time and 3-1 half the time. I'm speaking for the good of the conference, but I also think it's better for your program even if you don't believe it, because it's been better for every single program that has been in your position for 25 years.

But if you want to overschedule, fine, but just don't win any ACC games, LOL. I'm just going round and round with some of you guys, so I have to lay off it I guess.

BTW Lou, I have information that may interest you and your Nole fans. The ACC is working with Notre Dame to help FSU, Georgia Tech, and Clemson with their home game problem potentially if the ACC goes to a 9 game schedule which is likely once the B1G and SEC go 9 game schedules as well. The idea would be that in the years that ND would host FSU. Clemson, Ga. Tech in home games they would make these games their Shamrock games and play them in the Southeast Clemson in Charlotte, Florida State in Orlando/Tampa, Georgia Tech in Atlanta and while ND/NBC would control the games as home games ND would give those schools a decent pay out to compensate them when they only had 6 home games to go with 5 road games and the neutral site game. This would occur once every six years and would alleviate the lost revenue that Clemson and Florida State would get every 6 years. So the ACC is working to help FSU/Clemson I hope your anti-ACC fans realize this of which you used to be part of as you have stated.

Yeah, I think something like this would have to happen to make it work, so if true I'm glad they're working on it. Not sure it will be enough.

Does seem like more than I would expect ND to do. We used to occasionally have "away" ACC games in Orlando where WF or Duke were bought out. I have kind of been expecting something like that to be part of it rather than ND.

Thanks for the info though.

Our last game will not be a home game. we have six already locked in, no way we have 7 games in the Dome. Plus Metlife? Are you even allowed to only have 4 road games total?

Ohio State plays 8 home every other year. 3 patsys every year and one home and home vs a good team.

Florida does it all the time.

In 2010 they played 7 home games, 4 road games, and UGa in Jacksonville.

Doug Marrone's first year in 2009 we had 8 home games and 4 road games. With 3 of the 4 road games in neighboring Pennsylvania and Connecticut. In fact 7 of our first 8 games were at home. This schedule was cushy.

That schedule is fine. We just have to lay it out better.
