Starting next year we will always make a bowl and crack the top 25 every few years. The program is on the upswing need to keep the staff together

Yes he will. I like what the future holds. We have to keep recruiting the same way we have the last two to three years.

Your point being? Ishmael is in year 1 of 4. Long is in year 1 of 4. If Long is the QB for the rest of his career, Alin and Ishmael will not be on the field together.

We have lost two quarterbacks halfway through the season. Never say never.

I actually get what he means. Except for maybe the second half of 2012 it's been painful since 2001. That's 13 years of average at best and mostly below average if not bad. That's a long time. Every new coach, we have to wait 4-5 years till they get "their players" or we have to wait until a class of incoming recruits gets here or a freshmen class matures.

It's always something.

It's time to just start winning on a consistent basis and making a 7 win season the so so year but not the norm. With a bowl win, a 7-6 season is bland.

We need a QB--any QB--to emerge for me to be confident in our future. It would be great if that player is Long, because then we would have the benefit of enjoying three years of solid play after this one, serving as the bridge to the program's future.

Long has flashed a lot of proimse. We really need for him to develop, and not prove to be a stopgap stiff. Because if the latter is what happens, we're back to square one.

gotta continue to make incremental improvement. its too bad we couldnt see marrone/hackett for one more year to see if they truly found something on offense.
