Do you guys love or loathe Bracketology?

I love it.gif

I love talking about the bubble (not necessarily when SU is on it). I love talking about seeding. I love talking about who's in and who's out and why.

I just love it.

We've been pretty much been on the bubble for 7 straight years.
From what I heard/read, SU was last 6th in, so doesn't that technically mean they weren't on the bubble? I mean don't you have to be one pf the last 4 in / first 4 out to be on the bubble?

I’m thinking it means that you’re not a lock to make the tournament and confusion if you’re getting in or not.

Love it. Wanna see Joe spray his head with Top It while making his picks. Guy is a National Treasure.

I've always considered "bubble" being 10 seed or lower. I'm pretty sure we were universally considered a 10 seed in 2007, for example.

I love Ohio over Virginia first round.
That’s my big upset prediction.
I tend to agree this could be an upset. First UVA will not have many opportunities to practice before the game on Saturday due to the quarantine and second I think Syracuse exposed a weakness with UVA having difficulty with the press. I am sure Ohio is practicing their press.

It's fully dependent on how we do.

If we're locked in, happy to hear about it.

When we're on the bubble, hate it.

A few years ago Lunardi tried to take a shot at JB, and by rote Syracuse, by saying that he would change the phrase “on the bubble”, to being “on the Boeheim”.
I loathed him before that, more then
ever now, and the entire spectacle is abhorrent to me. But...it’s still better than the alternative.
I get it, then I remember that IU has missed the Tourney four straight years. Perspective.
  • UCLA has made the Sweet 16 only 4 times in 13 years.
  • Maryland? Only seven NCAAs, one Sweet 16 in 18 years.
  • Missouri? Seven NCAAs in 18 years. One Sweet 16.
  • Oklahoma? Only 8 NCAAs in 15 years
  • Oklahoma State? Only seven NCAAs (no Sweet 16s) in 16 years (about to go on probation)
We're not thriving. But we are not bottoming out, either.
It's tough out there, especially when we are recruiting uphill (it is not an even field).

I hate the endless parsing of the records of mediocre teams. Either cut it back to a 16 team straight invitational of the truly best teams or expand it to include everybody, (you'd get it down to 64 in three rounds- it could be done in a week.), so we can concentrate on the games, rather than the speculation.
