Does SU just play to the level of their competition?

Though wins the last 3 games, as a team, we've only played ok. I don't expect us to go undefeated, but we can't play like this against Pitt.
The rest will help them regroup.

conference road games are never, ever easy. people seem to expect SU to win by 20 points every night. they played like crap and still won by 10 against some plucky team that was bombing threes. i'd say it was a pretty successful evening.

18-0 in conference is not going to happen. and that's okay. this team is still awesome. sign me up for 15-3 and a 1 seed in march

Don't remember any M2M in 03 except the last shot of the Championship game. Any specific examples?

Almost positive we didn't play M2M. We did press and McNeil blocked a bunch of shots.

The fact is that SU this year doesn't play the up tempo game we saw with the AndyR/Wes Johnson team, nor with MCW/Waiters. It's a different team with a different style and I don't see us blowing out teams in very many games. My suggestion for how to deal with that? More beer! We're gonna need it, LOL!

I'm guessing that's what was meant. With that being the case I agree that the press is a great tool to employ if it looks like it's getting out of hand late. But this gets more difficult with JB not going too deep on the bench at all.

Not to mention, this isn't a very good press team. 2003 was a good press team because with Duany, Melo, and Hak were were long as ish. GMac was tremendously sneaky in the press, and McNeil was the 2nd best shot blocker we've had in the past 20 years other than Etan.

Ennis and Cooney needs to preserve themselves for offense, so JB has gone to Ennis/MG for press and CJ/Grant seem to be like a step behind...so basically every time we press turns into a Keita/Rak foul. I'll take my chances with our zone.
