Yukon/Tennessee level of respect

As the board's Vegas expert, what are your thoughts on all these stories I'm seeing about hotel occupancy levels and foot traffic being at all-time lows?
It seems there's a good amount of truth to it. Earlier this summer I stayed at Cosmo and was able to re-book my room for $600 less than the original price. Decided to check out Fontainebleau this weekend. I rebooked a nicer class of suite for $600 less there as well than my original booking.

This is cyclical. The hotels will lower their prices and then when the economy is good they'll increase. I'm kind of excited as a 3x yearly visitor. In April 2021 I got this insane upgrade at Aria to a 1 bedroom panoramic penthouse. (if you're curious https://aria.mgmresorts.com/en/hotel/sky-suites-one-bedroom-penthouse-panoramic.html ). I was genuinely shocked when I walked in that room. Also got a deal at Nomad in March 2022 where all in for 5 nights it was under $500 inclusive of taxes and fees. By March 2023 that was $2400.

Even now you're seeing free parking come back and Resorts World has slashed prices and dropped resort fees. The long term issues are Gen Z in general just sort of eschewing fun and embracing puritanism across the ideological spectrum. It'll be interesting to see what it's like in 10 years. I went to Tao Beach on July 6 with Mike Posner performing. I was pleasantly surprised at the number of people in their 40s and 50s there, but we're not the age group that's going to keep these clubs going.

Exactly the way I am looking at it and quite honestly I don't think anybody knows what Syracuse will look like this year. A blow out loss and poor performance against Tenn and then the UCONN game which is a very BIG game for them could be a real test early. Mora is a pretty good coach and will have them ready. It's a must win for Syracuse given the schedule but I agree it's not going to be an easy one. They aren't a bad team by any means. A game we should win for sure but not expecting an easy one
UConn is coming off 9 wins. I assume they lost some big pieces to graduation and the portal, but what Mora has done there is really impressive. And while I wish them nothing but failure, it's crazy that their program has some life to it after the clown show of RE 2.0 and cancelling the 2020 season. I would have bet that was the nail in their coffin, but sadly they're a cockroach.

I do think UCONN will be better this year
Last year the game was an odd one for us. We had 7 penalties, missed a 4th and 5 by a yard, and Kyle looked sloppy in some key moments including a bad sack towards the end of the game.
Defense was also asleep on UCONNS first TD.
Let's home Fran reminds them of what can happen if you don't bring your A game each week.
With lots of returning players on offense, their offense could be a little better, but o line is a question mark. And Considering their schedule, their offensive production really was not impressive. But their defense should be worse, maybe significantly. Also, despite their week schedule, I don’t think they can run the table 2 years in a row against G5 competition and they likely lose all ACC games. As another poster said, we out gained them by 200 yards and left points on the field. They had a late touchdown when we played conservatively. If our O line is legit we should stay in control, regardless of the final score.
