They also fired the women's basketball coach with a couple years left on her contract. I would think there would be a limited budget for paying people not to work at most universities, but we'll see. Hopefully Hop will make it a non-issue with a better season.cover at UW?
Yeah he’s recruiting like it’s 1992He needs help on the offensive end of the court. His teams have been brutal to watch score.
350th in team FG%He needs help on the offensive end of the court. His teams have been brutal to watch score.
what happened w his recruiting? seems like along w anemic offense there's just a dearth of talent currently on the roster? has he hit the portal at all?As long as he can hover around 500 I think he will be fine. It is a football first school by a mile. People don't even talk about basketball here at all. This is how Romar stayed around for so long. He was a nice guy who never embarrassed the program and everyone in athletics liked. The football situation definitely helps him but he has to win more than 10-12 games. I'm not sure if this team can do that. They need to beat the non-conference teams like Wyoming, Seattle U etc and then beat the bottom half of the Pac 12.
He did hit the portal and I think got a few kids better than the ones he lost. The Davis kid from Stanford and the kid from Michigan. When things didn't go well for Jaden McDaniels his family blamed Hop which is crazy because the kid is a total headcase and can't shoot. They went around to local AAU tesms bad mouthing Hop which carries weight. They have 2 kids who are in the NBA. That has hurt him since hadn't been out here a really long time and doesn't have long standing relationships.what happened w his recruiting? seems like along w anemic offense there's just a dearth of talent currently on the roster? has he hit the portal at all?
Probably around that. He has 3 years left after this one at around 2.8 I thinkDoesnt UW have to pay Hop $10 mil or something if they fire him without cause before his contract is up?
Been there. He needs help on the offensive end of the court. His teams have been brutal to watch score.
You can be 350th in the country in something? Impressive!350th in team FG%
What’s crazy is they probably would’ve been better without McDainels, I think I watched every game that year and after Green was ineligible it seemed like Mcdaniels was just chucking the ball every time he got it and put zero into defense. Such a shame because they had a pretty good squad. He did hit the portal and I think got a few kids better than the ones he lost. The Davis kid from Stanford and the kid from Michigan. I think I have a good idea. The timing is going to work out perfectly. It will be interesting to see where he lands next.
If he gets fired at Washington I don’t see how we could hire him.I think I have a good idea. The timing is going to work out perfectly.
At a certain point, it seems like something besides alma mater should be factored in the decision, but maybe we are crazy. If he gets fired at Washington I don’t see how we could hire him.
I hear you, but I can imagine all the narratives created to hire him. "spend 25 years recruiting in Northeast" "know system better than anyone else" yada yadaIf he gets fired at Washington I don’t see how we could hire him.
I’m guessing it’s going to be Gmac anyway.I hear you, but I can imagine all the narratives created to hire him. "spend 25 years recruiting in Northeast" "know system better than anyone else" yada yada
all I'm saying is it's not out of realm of possibility
