Since I' m stuck at home watching a sick three year old, lifting weights and popping mood altering sedatives, I thought that given the fact the old wrecking ball will be swinging soon and that once proud building we all called home for so many years will be modestly changed, I would list my Top 10 Dome memories:

Top Ten Dome Memories:

10. ROTC Drilling on Tuesday mornings
9. Springsteen 1985
8. U2 1987
7. Every basketball home game from 1984 to 1988
6. SU 89 Michigan 71 1988
5. SU 48 Sandusky State 21 1987
4. SU 27 Clemson 24 2017
3. SU 17 Nebraska 9 1984
2. SU 65 Gtown 63 1985
1. SU 32 WVU 31 1987

Honarable mentions: The night Shumpert lit up Ucant with a million 3s, Stones, graduation

1) Miami of Ohio 1980 and Joe Morris running the kickoff back.

2) The Stones

3) The Police

4) The Journey show I never made it to.

5) ESPN game day for the first Duke game in the Dome.

6) The aforementioned Duke game.

7) Pearl’s shot.

8) Thompson’s T’s and Derrick’s free throws.

9) Senior dinner the night before graduation.

10) Commencement and Dan Rather asking us to applaud for our parents.

My memory is so wonky, I am not even sure if the ‘memories’ I have of U2 in 87 are real.

Game memories are a jumble. Half court season tix from 85-89 were a treat. So grateful for having seen Pearl for a year. Then the heyday of DC, Sherman, Seikaly, Triche, Stevie... Good times.

nice list. I’m too lazy to even think about it right now.

The VT football game in 98 and Pitt hoop game in 03 were probably the best examples of games where afterwards I felt like I’d played, had no voice the next day, and was wired for hours afterwards.

I remember as a kid I used to look at the clock at games and get bummed out like “there’s only half a game left”. I wanted those games to go on forever. Loved being there.

At least Roy didn’t hit us with a “The Carrier Dome is now officially closed” in the post game presser...

He probably doesn’t even know. There’s no passion in this. Just surgical style executions every year.
